Prosecutors charged a white man with manslaughter Monday in the death of an unarmed black man whose video-recorded shooting in a store parking lot has revived debate over Florida's "stand your ground" law.
Michael Drejka, 47, has been charged with the July 19 death of Markeis McGlockton outside a Clearwater convenience store, Pinellas County State Atty. Bernie McCabe said. Drejka was being held at the county jail on $100,000 bail. It was unknown whether he had an attorney.
At a news conference Monday afternoon, relatives of McGlockton said they were pleased with the charge.

Drop dead, racist L A Times.
Can not understand people who the first thing they glom onto the skin color of an events participants.
Oh - I wondered why there was a sudden reversal/override of the sheriff and the stand your ground law...
Raciiisss
What does the video show? Was it a reasonable shooting?
Guilty of Manslaughter.
They used to be handsomely rewarded for such behavior. These days less and less so. But it’s their only game.
No
The video is debatable. There was a confrontation over a handicapped parking spot. The shooter got pushed to the ground and pulled a gun. The guy who got shot starts backing away and gets shot in the chest (dies).
What complicates this is that the shooter has a history of pulling his gun and threatening people with it.
There haven’t been any Fergusons so it has to whip up the lunatics/gangs.
I've seen this movie.
I’d guess that his (apparent) handicap parking spaces obsession will sink him.
If that had been me laying on the ground, I would have been in fear for my life.

I confess that I’m not really interested in the race of the two guys unless this was a racial incident. I wonder if one of them was trying to confront the other one for using a handicapped stall without a sticker. If so, the shooting’s justified. The fewer busybodies, the better. (just kidding)
It will be a hung jury or acquittal
There is a group in our society that is easily provoked, whether it’s being handed the wrong order at a drive-thru, are being asked to quiet down in a theater.
Bottom line, this is America 2018, your right to self defense is up to the media. If you must use your weapon to defend yourself, you will need to continue to use it to prevent being taken into custody, raped, and beaten.
Honestly, it does NOT seem like a reasonable shooting. However, I probably need to check all the information that I am reading about is correct.
A blindside attack and knockdown of the shooter by the dead guy, who moved to stomp, just before the shooter drew and fired from the ground.
Dead guy had extensive violent criminal record and convictions, shooter clean record, valid permit.
Strange case. Djreka was obsessed with protecting handicapped parking spots, and I think had threatened somebody else before over this issue. That time, the person wasnt black and didnt hit Djreka but just moved to another parking place.
I thought Djreka had overreacted but then when I saw the blow that the younger guy (the black man) gave him, I thought maybe not. The attacker just laid him out. And then the attacker appeared to be turning around, but it almost looked to me like he was going to wheel back for another punch or kick.
I think Djreka was probably a provocative person, maybe a little nutty and obsessive, but the man who clocked him was a bully and violent.
Based on your posts 17 and 18, as my only information (along with the apparent fact that the shooter has a bit of a history with this sort of thing), I’d find not guilty, due to enough reasonable doubt.
And I’d be careful not to push people down to the ground like that. I might get shot,l and I’d deserve it.
