North Korea threatened to end the “hard-won atmosphere of stability on the Korean Peninsula” on Thursday, in response to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s efforts to enforce economic sanctions against the regime.
The North Korean foreign ministry warned there is no guarantee stability will continue in a message carried by state-run KCNA.
Pompeo and other U.S. officials don’t want any international sanctions eased until North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un takes substantial steps to roll back his nuclear weapons and ballistic missile program. Kim’s diplomats have taken offense at this position, which the Trump administration believes is necessary to prevent North Korea from backsliding as the regime has in previous talks, and lashed out with a renewal of insulting rhetoric.
“[S]ome high-level officials within the U.S. administration are making baseless allegations against us and making desperate attempts at intensifying the international sanctions and pressure,” the foreign ministry said Thursday. “The international society is struck by this shameless and impertinent behavior of the U.S., and we also closely follow the U.S. behavior with high vigilance against their intentions.”(continued)

This was all a scam. President Trump now knows that. We must prevent an attack on our nation.
I’m guessing Kim has a problem with the Generals in the inner circle. Bad stuff might pop in Norkland soon. Like a palace revolt, assassination, and a new harsh crackdown on everyone who was on board with the thaw. That’s Kim, and his sister that went to the olympics, etc.
It will be the end of his fat, pudgy little life if he tries it, but who cares.

I think it’s rather humorous how some folks here make light of the fact Trump was man enough to meet Kim, and try to make agreements with him.
Nobody was delusional. We hoped a positive attempt would be met with a reasoned reaction. It seems it wasn’t.
Now Kim has spent his last chance and whatever follows is on him.
If Trump had gone in guns blazing from the start, the world would have been able to say Trump blew it.
Now all they can say is Kim did. He had a grand opportunity for him and his people, and blew it.
Trump basically has cart blanch now to escalate to the point of military action, if Kim doesn’t come to his senses.
As others have mentioned, he may have found stiff resistance at home too.
Trump is no fool. He gave Kim a way to save face.

I still think they should send some Korean-speaking Navy and Air Force O-6s to Pyongyang to explain MIRV to Kim and his inner circle. I can’t believe they currently grasp it or they wouldn’t dare antagonize us like this.
As I suggested before I don’t think Kim is fully in command. Maybe Kim should mortar a few more generals to (re)establish his authority.
