On July 6, Gabby Giffords’ gun control group retweeted NPR criticism of the “good guy with a gun” scenario and described claims of armed citizens defending themselves as a “myth.”

True. Few people will use a gun in self-defense. But the flip side is also true: Someone needing to defend themselves would LOVE to have a gun. The bigger, the better!
Maybe 1% of gun owners will use a gun in self-defense, but maybe 80% of people defending themselves will use a gun - and the other 20% would LIKE to use a gun!
I doubt 1% of respondents, asked to choose between using a brick for self-defense and a Glock, would choose the brick. Although both the brick and the Glock would feel about the same to the hand...so says this revolver fan!
