Well, Montana is no longer under a glacier. I suppose that’s good news.

Of course the climate is changing. It always has. From the first week of Creation, name a time that the Climate did not change.

Ah, I remember all those poor students trying to master the simplicities of calculus or physics (and failing) when I was a prof in college.

They are now journalism grads.

And, of course, science still owns their simple little brains.

For all you non-believers out there, hot weather is climate, cold weather is just weather, so STFU.

There is no argument that there is climate change resulting in some warming.

The argument is over the cause of the warming. The unproven claim is that the warming is man made.

The melting of the Alaska Exit Glacier has been observed for 125 years but there is no evidence or proof that human action caused the glacier to recede two miles.

“These days, plants and animals are arriving at Rocky Mountain Biological Lab a week or two earlier than they were 30 years ago. The robins that used to arrive in early April now show up in mid-March. Marmots end their winter slumber ever earlier.”

So those changes mean LIFE writ large is doomed, and us with it??

No. It means 100% the opposite. LIFE is and will continue to adapt, and LIFE adapting to change, not doom, is what the facts being reported indicate.

WTVT News Channel 13 out of Tampa had a news item this morning about "Rising sea levels" endangering coastal homes around the Tampa area.

Aside from showing flooding and waves crashing onto shore with sandbags in place, which were replays of past hurricane happenings, the operative word was "Could." The word was used so many times that I replayed the item and counted the times they used the word "Could."

12 times in one minute.!

If I go out and look for signs of unicorns I'm sure I could find some.
Will they reach the level of proof? Not likely.

“Evidence is in the blueberry bushes in Henry David Thoreau’s Walden Pond, the dwindling population of polar bears of the Arctic and the dying corals worldwide. Scientists have documented 28,800 cases of plants and animals “responding consistently to temperature changes,”

Life ADAPTING to “temperature change” is what is being observed. Even the polar bear population is not declining; they too are adapting from what life demanded of them to what life has possible for them, in a chaging world.

Adaptation, not a stagnant status quo, is how life on earth became what it is today. And that LIFE is robust and strong in the sense of its ability to adapt, to continuously adapt, even when and where it means some species previosuly advantaged become disadvantaged and some species previously disadvantaged becomes advantaged. Even that is not doom, but LIFE protecting itself, so that LIFE goes on.

Climate change is not a doom and gloom end of life and certainly not the end of our living on this planet.

We too adapt, and a single fact, our ability to survive in just about every climate on earth shows that - we are among the few species of life that can to that.

And our exapanded and expansive technological knowlegde means we are poised and capable of mitigating and adapting to the effects of “climate change” massively more than humans have ever been before.

What should we do, what can we do about “climate change”? DEAL WITH IT - children.

“If you don’t trust the thermometers, throw them out,” Hayhoe said. “All we have to do is look at what’s happening in nature.”

and none of it’s going to get any better until the United States signs on to a UN accord, and everybody starts kicking in globally earmarked tax payments...then voila, it will all go back to normal...

“At least five major ice ages have occurred throughout Earth’s history: the earliest was over 2 billion years ago, and the most recent one began approximately 3 million years ago and continues today (yes, we live in an ice age!). Currently, we are in a warm interglacial that began about 11,000 years ago.” https://geology.utah.gov/map-pub/survey-notes/glad-you-asked/ice-ages-what-are-they-and-what-causes-them/

Anybody taking a HighSchool class called “Science” can be assured of learning NOTHING “scientific”.

My bet is that “The Scientific Method” is nowhere to be found in the Text Book.

(Note: “Consensus” is NOT mentioned in “The Scientific Method”!)
