SAN DIEGO U.S. House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi will be in San Diego Monday to visit the U.S.-Mexico border in San Ysidro, and to tour a facility housing undocumented immigrant children who have been separated from their families or who arrived in the country unaccompanied.
Pelosi is travelling with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and other members of Congress.
**SNIP**
As a result of enforcing that policy, families who cross illegally have been separated from their children, because those accompanying the children are put into the criminal justice system.

Where was she on this during Obama’s presidency? One might cynically believe this is all a political stunt, and somewhere some focus group told the DNC to make lots of noise on this issue, and their cohorts in the media were informed by the Democratic Party to start raising a ruckus about it.
Could backfire on her politically.
If our side were smart and on our side, the response is simple. Ms. Pelosi and others of her ilk and wealth should be asked if they’d like to foster some of the unaccompanied minors for the summer. Also, why aren’t the ‘pubs brings up the stats about the numbers of these children who would be involved in gangs, in sex and drug trafficking?
Pelosi showing once again that invaders are more important than Citizens, to her. Sad ....
Just a photo op since we know what her response is going to be......
Gee Nancy, maybe you ought to take this up with the Mexican government as well, since their corruption and incompetence along with the poverty and violence there greatly compels people to try to jump over the border illegally. Would not hold my breath for this though.
“Just a photo op since we know what her response is going to be......”
Probably not a good idea, since lately, she’s really looking at one old hag in the appearance department. The Siicone/Botox is starting to “migrate” and it ain’t pretty.
In 1996. then-President Bill Clinton signed the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act that overhauled immigration enforcement in the US........and laid the groundwork for the massive deportation machine that exists today.
Now some progressive Democrats are frantically trying to revise what is seen as a Democrat mistake-—
32 members of the House signed onto a congressional resolution condemning the 1996 law, introduced Thursday by Rep. Raul Grijalva (Excerpt) Read more at vox.com ...
They need photo-ops for the upcoming election.
They keep throwing stuff up against the wall but nothing seems to stick.
They are puzzled why their big issues just don't seem to be resonating with voters.
Funny!
This isn’t a mistake it’s a good start. Clinton, Bill that is, wound up being more conservative than both Bushies.
If I was in an immigrant shelter and Nancy showed up, I would self deport.
Hogwash!
I don’t like the Obama was just as bad response, because then we concede what is happening is a bad thing. When our response should be “so what?”. It’s illegal to cross the border with or without kids, the adults are taken into custody and the kids taken to be held until BOTH can be sent back together. These detention centers are clean and humane, and that is all that we should worry about.
In the end we need to stress that adults with or without kids will be sent back if here illegally. Also stress our social programs and schools can’t take the burden of more illegals and their kids.
really? sure Newt and the Repub take over of congress forced his hand, but he did pass welfare reform and didn’t push for this open borders nonsense to the extent of both bushes and obama
Dime to a donut says she goes to the wrong border. :)
is all the outrage political? is it because ACLU published the following in May?
22 May 2018: ACLU: ACLU Obtains Documents Showing Widespread Abuse of Child Immigrants in U.S. Custody
The report is based on over 30,000 pages of documents dated between 2009 and 2014. The documents were obtained by the ACLU Foundation of San Diego & Imperial Counties and the ACLU Foundation of Arizona through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit co-counseled with Cooley LLP. The documents feature numerous cases of shocking violence and abuse against migrant children, many of whom arrived in the United States fleeing violence in their home countries...

Democrats think it’s a mistake.......now they want to repeal it.
