(snip)The Tribune combed through police files, court records and news reports to compile its own list. The analysis shows that:
Most of those shot by CCL holders have been armed robbers. Others include carjackers, a burglar with a crowbar, a robber with a gun to a clerks head, neighbors, an ex-girlfriend, a father-in-law, an unarmed teen stealing a Jeep, a passenger in a car during a road rage attack and a naked man acting aggressively. They were shot by homeowners, customers, security guards, store clerks, a Chicago police dispatcher, a Chicago fire lieutenant, a Chicago Park District worker, a tow-truck driver and the owner of a West Side cellphone store. The shootings took place at currency exchanges, phone stores, a driveway between two homes, parking lots, a party, a Loop McDonalds, a West Side church, a block where children played and a downstate gun range.

Colonel McCormick must be doing 30,000 RPM about now.

“Why?”
Because they were LAWFUL self-defense shoots and the prosecutor concurred.
There is no obligation for the state to provide details to the press so they can cherry pick facts and second guess the results.
Go from there.
Why?
Because news of law abiding citizens defending themselves goes against the Gun Control Narrative.
Police need to designate each homicide as either a crime (murder) or justifiable (response to a threat to life).
They do that now. They simply dont publicize each and every investigation. Which seems to be what the Trib wants.
Screw them.

Gee, Trib, it sounds like you know a lot about the concealed carry shootings, but aren't reporting them. Maybe that's why *we* know nothing about them?
Typical anti-Second Amendment wordy, emotional screed.
The author acknowledges the authorities told him that CCW holders are so law abiding and careful as to not be any significant problem.
So the author goes out of his way to nit-pic as much as he possibly can, implying that much more regulation is needed, *because*.
Linked from the article, a woman complaining about a CCW holder shooting her brother while he was stealing a car:'When has it ever become legal to shoot someone because theyre pulling off in your car?'
