Now, I bet the Deep State has offered to take care of him as he goes out the door if...

The deep state being CNN? The problem with Gowdy is he probably knows very little more than we know but has decided there was a legit basis for a CI investigation. With the amount of redacted material in Schiff's memo, it is plausible. But now a lot of that has unraveled and some of the few pieces left are Mifsud and his Italian parliamentarian socialist friend who campaigned for Hillary. Mifsud cultivated Papadop in March 2016 along with Papadop's future wife, who is now essentially an FBI asset. The authorship for that March 2016 activity is crucial. Was it Putin? Or was it MI6? Or Italian intelligence?

“I think something big is coming down the pike”

Let it come. The “Deplorables” have about had enough of the Deep State bull$hit, and we might as well get it resolved once and for all.

Gowdy and Rubio are the new go-to substitutes for John McCain who is now too sick to function. Flake did the job for a while but he’s lost all credibility already. Look for Ryan to become more overt in the role as Gowdy and Rubio (quickly) become used up.

“After all, the default position for government leadership is to cut a deal to avoid difficult problems. Possibly they think they can finesse the issue by having Mueller issue a non-conclusive report and just drop the issue.”
______________________________

I agree with this. I suspect some deal is being negotiated. Drop or curtail the investigate the Deep state investigation in exchange for Mueller dropping or curtailing the SC investigation.

Both Gowdy and Sessions have become - or always were - SWAMP CREATURES.

SESSIONS REFUSED TRUMP'S REQUEST TO RETAIN CONTROL OF RUSSIA PROBE, TRUMP SEEMS SATISFIED LEGAL TEAM

Garbage. Utter garbage.

When will you people learn that the opposition has precisely ZERO on Trump? President Trump is not going to surrender to a bunch of worms. He can destroy the Deep State with declassifications and pardons if they push it too far.

I can’t think of anything that would fire up the Deplorables as much as full exposure of the DS.

It has always been possible that the Russians got to someone associated with the administration. The spy game has never stopped and we do it to them also. The real irony however remains that the MSM has focused solely on Trump when the odds are that Trump had no more knowledge of who it was than Obama did in his administration, Bush in his, or Clinton. That is the way it works.

They have used this to damage Trump from start to finish. The leaks, the innuendo, the special counsel, etc etc etc. As Trump said - if there was someone he wanted them found, but look what they have done to him. They repeatedly tell him privately he is not a target of the investigation, but they don’t state that publicly and the beat goes on and on as do the leaks.

The politicization of the investigation BY THEM and the illegal leaks of classified information have done far more damage to our country IMO. The entire thing is a cascade of “hooks” just as Comey marched to the Oval Office at the direction of Clapper to “brief” the President on the dossier that the media was sitting on. This promptly leaked and CNN ran the story and buzzfeed published it. This was the basic game they played. Go back and look at the Howard Kurtz book where he detailed how Comey approached Priebus about a news cycle not being true... Priebus asked him to publicly say that and he refused. Hours later the news cycle became even more frantic with WH interferes in investigation. They have done this over and over to damage the administration - it is their game.

It is likely that the intelligence services pumped, funneled, and teased lots of “raw intel” to the FBI under the direction of Brennan and Clapper who also planted hooks using the State Department and British Intel all funneled to the 7th floor of the FBI to make it appear like there was a case. This led to electronic surveillance that, thanks to the new Obama policy, was widely disseminated throughout the government facilitating the leaks.

It was all a series of hooks and a series of leaks to damage the administration for political purposes and ultimately to lead to the appointment of a special counsel to continue the game.

Gowdy may have realized that the FBI was used. They were a willing participant because clearly the special matters group did not like the President, but I believe it is spelled out in the FISA application(s). There is a much bigger game at play than what we have seen, which has been outrageous.

I am not really surprised. All CAREER politicians I view through suspicious glasses. It is very hard for them to go against the establishment. I tend to have more faith in those who have background in running a business of their own.

Andrew McCarthy is a master at all his trades: writer, lawyer, and pundit. A few deft strokes of his keyboard, and Trey Gowdy is sent sprawling like a day-old pup. No small feat, that.

I am sick and tired of racial identification in this country. None of the “blacks” are without some blood from their slave owners.

I have traveled and lived in 36 countries, and no where I have seen racial identity front and center as in USA. It is urgently necessary to abolish racial identification of all. No more hyphenated Americans, no more quota’s and no more racial preferences. Because none is a pure race. The Europeans were invaded by other races for centuries and have some oriental or negroid blood mixed in. Have you noticed the oriental eyes of sen Bill nelson? Visit Spain and observe all the vestiges of African invaders.

The fact is human origins can be traced to the Olduvai gorge in Africa. ML King was absolutely right. Every human should be judged on their character and achievements than the color of skin which is only a couple of millimeters thick.

Gowdy has always been a man so full of potential, one who has misused his potential to grandstand and do nothing. If anything he is a smoother Rand Paul, with designs which are nothing but prophylactic.

If Gowdy was a hooker he would talk a good game but refuse to have sex.

No, Gowdy is now spending any goodwill he has left in his final term, to side with racketeers, who have continually attempted to find impeachment evidence on President Trump. This is the only card the left now has, because PDJT is doing such a good job as president. HIs performance is outstanding, which even the Propaganda media cannot hide or redefine.

So now they will try a perjury trap on the president an act of utter desperation on the left, designed to get PDJT to testify under oath, ( This isn’t about the President , this is about RUSSIA!....and then put the boots to the president? F**k Trey Gowdy! This is about an impeachment pan against the president. Nothing more or less. A manufactured impeachment plan right from the Steele Dossier on down.)

One can only ask what Gowdy was promised by these Deep State racketeers who should be rounded up and prosecuted under our RICO statute.

but it is possible the investigation has uncovered something so bad people in the system have become convinced it can’t be exposed.

They always default to this, oh, the American people cannot be exposed, it will hurt the public trust. Obama came out of nowhere, right after all the warrant less, surveillance of the American people was perfected. He and his cronies used it against the American people, specifically in an election, a very big no, no in our country.

I believe, almost no one will get charged except if you lie, a process crime. The reason, Obama and his handlers were all attorneys and know how to work the system as to place no blame on them, a process crime at best. There will never be sedition or treason charges against anyone affiliated with Obama or Clinton.

I don’t think such an approach would be tolerated by President Trump but it is possible the investigation has uncovered something so bad people in the system have become convinced it can’t be exposed.

It seems to me, the democraps have successfully convinced the rubes that exposing and convicting the swamp will trigger a Constitutional crisis of epic proportions. If there’s one thing that can be said about the RINO’s, they fall for the Dems dirty tricks, every time. I could speculate they’re in on it but it escapes me as to why they would deliberately play the idiots.

I agree, especially with your last sentence. Having and running your own business can give you skills you can’t get any other way. College/grad school? They teach theory, not hands on.

I owned a business from 1986 till 1999. Best experience of my life.

>> Was the FBI involved with Mifsud setting up Papadop in March 2016? Were they already planning a Russian collusion sting back then? Seems unlikely. <<

Good question.

There was a good answer to that offered in this twitter thread:

https://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3659311/posts

This theory, in short:

1. When Papadop told Downer that Russia had info on Hillary, he was merely repeating what Judge Napolitono had been saying on Fox News the day before - namely that Russia had tens of thousands of Hillary emails and was deciding whether to release them. Papadop never told Downer where he got the info from. He got it from TV!

2. The first time the story that Mifsud gave Papadop info that Russians had Hillary emails was ever told was on January 27, 2017 in his FBI interview.

Remember, at that time Sally Yates was Acting Attorney General, the coup plotters were full steam ahead trying to frame Trump in their investigation, Comey and McCabe were still in place at the FBI.

Papadop made it all up on January 27, 2017 to satisfy what the FBI wanted to create fodder for their Trump narrative. My guess: they found something in the FISA or GCHQ data on Papadop, maybe drug usage or a financial scam, to hold over his head to make him compose a story that was useful to the DOJ/FBI to fit the justification for the spying on the Trump campaign.

I’m sure Rep. Gowdy feels much better about himself now that he’s out of the swamp-dweller closet.

That’s all that really matters. Feelings are everything these days.
