Yep. This may just be a business deal.

As long as Gowdy was planning on staying in the business he had to protect his brand ("Hard charging, fast talking, Conservative Hero") in order to maximize his profits. Now that he's on his way out the door there is no longer any need to protect his brand and he's free to accept the biggest, best-est deal from anyone with the cash.

Anyone want to bet he doesn't already have his post-Politi-whore career locked in tight?

Pinging UPCHUCK who was once a big fan of Gowdy.

Thanks for the ping. The operative keyword is ONCE :)

Rep Gowdy seems to have lost his way.

After 9/11 everyone was unhappy with Gorelick’s Wall which hindered information about Islamic terrorists from being shared between the criminal side and the counterintelligence side.

Maybe Gorelick was the only one that understood what the deep state would do with that power. But I have always thought of her as a deep state globalist that was trying to cover for the foreign invasion that has been happening. Who really knows the truth anymore?

“OTOH...Trump is not someone who will be cowed and slink away; he’s a fighter, a non-pol pol, the likes of whom NOBODY alive has EVER seen before!”

Exactly. He’s spent years dealing with slimy politicians. He knows what they are and where the dirt is. Plus, he now has the power to declassify anything he wishes.

Personally, I think he has all the cards to go nuclear on the Deep State at the time of his choosing.

Thank you, Andrew McCarthy. I know you did not support Trump. But your legal
expertise has brought you to the certainty that Obama's Justice & Intelligence
Departments spied on Trump.

Agree. He also has financial resources that the Deep State has never had to deal with before. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he didn't have his own private investigation of them ongoing. They should be very, very afraid - particularly since I don't think most of them ever get to the level of national political office without having a lot of dirt on their hands.

“Rep Gowdy seems to have lost his way.”

There's something about this guy that just screams ‘snake’ to me. Most of the manipulative dolts that occupy public office are good at recognizing what the public wants to hear - and regurgitating that - with no sincere intentions of acting on the publics concerns. It's easy for them to spout, ‘lower taxes’, ‘stronger military’, ‘family values’, ‘get the economy going’, ‘jobs’, ‘less government’, etc. What matters is what their actions are, and this guy has done nothing but posture. Now he's undercutting the President.

Fox News led off with propaganda from Gowdy last night, then clips of that propaganda from other stations, then MORE deep state propaganda from “Judge” Napolitano last night. They’re engaged in a full-fledged propaganda effort to deny the FBI ever spied on Trump and, even if they did, claim that it meant nothing and, indeed, Trump should be endlessly grateful that they did.

And, of course, any time he complains about this, in their evil little minds he’s “obstructing justice” or some such garbage.

I don’t think such an approach would be tolerated by President Trump but it is possible the investigation has uncovered something so bad people in the system have become convinced it can’t be exposed.

It might be. Remember, President Trump seemed entirely willing to let Hillary skate on all of her crimes after the election - wrongly assuming, I suppose, that she’d simply go away and shut up. And, as much as it offends me to see justice applied differently in this country, I can understand that. It would be hard to “make America great again” if the left goes absolutely crazy because you’ve just locked up their candidate.

However, since Hillary doesn’t have the ability to shut up and the left has gone absolutely crazy ANYWAY, there’s no longer any reason to play Mr. Nice Guy - and if we had a real Attorney General instead of a castrated fossil perhaps something would have happened by now.

The problem is, when you have a group of corrupt politicians who think they can get away with anything because they’re THEM - you CAN’T allow that to become business as usual because it corrupts the entire government (which, I suspect, is pretty much the case anyway). If Obama’s guilty of crimes, arrest him. Period. If the blacks don’t like it, too bad.

What if a document or other conclusive evidence has been uncovered showing Obama’s personal and direct involvement in organizing and carrying out a major crime

Obama is stupid enough to let that be documented but the people around him were not. More likely Gowdy is looking at the CI investigation from a bit more knowledge than we have. For example we don't know if Mifsud is a Russian agent backed up with secret sources or if he was with MI6 and part of their plot against Trump. Papadop's hot Italian wife, Mangiante, is essentially part of the Mueller team now. She worked for Mifsud, knows everything and has spilled everything (had no lawyer). She was introduced to Mifsud around 2012 by Gianni Pittella, a high ranking Italian socialist who later campaigned for Clinton.

The remaining questions are the motive for Mifsud setting up Papadop (and thereby Trump) in March of 2016. That was before any dossier or FBI involvement as far as we know. Can't say automatically that the FBI had it in for Trump in March of 2016 and had Mifsud on the payroll, but we can't rule it out either,. Gowdy probably knows a little more than that, but not much more. So his worser instinct is to go with the theory of a Mifsud-Russia plot.

That's logical, but that only applies to Halper. Was the FBI involved with Mifsud setting up Papadop in March 2016? Were they already planning a Russian collusion sting back then? Seems unlikely. In any case Gowdy probably doesn't have many more facts than we do (see my previous post). There's no much other stuff underneath the redactions in Schiff's memo than the role of Mifsud and maybe one or two others. The bottom line is there is no collusion (Gowdy admits that) but there is still a question of what motivated the FBI and specifically Stzok other than animus against Trump and support for Hillary.

Superb article. Gowdy is like Obozo, he talks a good line, but on close examination it is all smoke and mirrors. Check his record, Mexican gun running, Benghazi, server gate, all talk and no action. Now, I bet the Deep State has offered to take care of him as he goes out the door if he will fatally damage Nunes’s effort to get to the bottom of Spygate. Just proves the Deep State is alive and well as evidenced by Gowdy’s gratuitous prevarications and the intimidation of inside FBI whistleblowers.

Not really. She is a nothing, collecting awards for losing the election. What she says is of no consequence whatsoever. She has no power. She doesn't even have an academy to propagandize the young like Obama does.

The idea that Sessions or superman in Session's place can somehow prosecute the FBI spying is a nonstarter. We don't know the evidence for the FBI CI investigation although some has unraveled. But there is still more.
