Trump is expected to announce he will allow sanctions to go forward on Iran

President Donald Trump is expected to announce on Tuesday he will allow sanctions to go forward on Iran, a first step toward withdrawing from the touchstone nuclear agreement negotiated by his predecessor, according to a US official and a person familiar with the plan.

However, the sanctions could take months to go into effect as the US government develops guidance for companies and banks. The officials cautioned nothing is final until Trump makes his announcement from the Diplomatic Room of the White House at 2 p.m. ET, and held out the possibility that he could change course.

Long a harsh critic of the nuclear accord, Trump has so far resisted taking steps to fully quit the plan. His announcement Tuesday to allow sanctions to go ahead would amount to the firmest step yet toward fulfilling his campaign promise to rip it up. But he's expected to still allow for a grace period that may offer the deal's proponents an opening to negotiate.

The prolonged pained wailing and moaning from the Quisling politicians and “journalists” will be like that heard for the first 15-20 minutes after the Titanic sank.

It’s CNN, so I don’t trust whatever they say, but if true, this is a significant shift. It will be interesting to hear why the apparent change after long railing against it.

From what I understand, Europe has a huge financial stake in maintaining this agreement.

Europe does a lot trade with Iran, including before sanctions were lifted.

Seriously, check out their press. The enemedia over there is frothing at the mouth.

Have you read the media in the local language, ex: German, French, Italian?

He's gonna get out for sure unless he changes his mind.

At least we know now. Sure....we know nothing.

FWIW, considering how the Euroweenies are howling, I think Trump’s gonna nix it.

The left will NEVER admit the Iran deal was bad and a failure....

Jerusalem could be a nuclear creator with Iran taking credit and they would still say it was a good deal.

Trump gets everyone to dump their guts. Everyone of those countries said they don't like the deal and were putting together a list of amendments to submit to President Trump.

Not very honest brokers.

The Euroweenies are making big bucks off Iran. I saw a report a little while ago that Macron phoned Trump an hour or two ago. Three guesses why. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall...

Of course, same old same old. Euro economy barely stay afloat on it ability to export. They so screwed up their econmies with socialit nonsense they need the trade to break even. There are billions to be made in trade with Iran. That is all they care about.

Lenin said it best about the Euro trash.

“The Capitalists (i.e. the Eurotrash) will sell us the rope by which we will hang them”
