The next Speaker should be elected now so he will have a smoother opening few months next year as the chances of a Blue Wave grow smaller by the week.
Also the Wikipedia entry on him says this (recognizing the only worth in Wikipedia is what slant they take on political matters, and seeing the truth is usually the opposite:

John Boehner thinks he is a "legislative terrorist". With that assessment by someone like "Crying John" Boehner, I cannot think of a finer indication that Jim Jordan must be doing some things right.
It blows, but the primary job of most house members is to keep getting elected.
That takes money, lots of it.
They raise lots themselves, but not enough, and the extra cabbage comes via big gifts from the RNC, etc. A bunch of special interest PACs.
Right now, unfortunately, the primary job of the speaker is to raise that extra money. It sux, but that’s a fact. System inertia will push to elect whoever can continue that gravy train.
Ryan needs to go nkw for lots of reasons, but inside baseball says it’s because the PACs won’t give him the masssive $ because he lost his influence patronage power with his announcement.
Sooo...this blows.

Not McCarthy. IIRC, he was not pro Trump, and tried to thwart him at the outset. If there’s a choice between someone we know supports PDJT (JJ), and someone who is iffy on support (KM), there’s no question. Why take a chance on buying more trouble?

Scalise would be better, but he’s also too much in the establishment camp. Jim Jordan, Mark Meadows, or Dave Brat would be excellent. They are solidly conservative, smart as a tack, and articulate.
Jim Jordan would be fantastic! But knowing stupid republicans like I do, we will probably end up with another RINO stooge!
They pick a true conservative speaker and that will lock in the house for next election. They pick a stooge and everyone stays home!

Ryan should be replaced NOW. A lame duck speaker isn't doing us any good and we do have the midterms coming up. Give the electorate something positive to vote for.
Mc is nothing but a sycophant (red and pink Starbursts, anyone?) who worked very hard to curry favor with DJT once he won the office. Prior to the election Mc had nothing nice to say about DJT. Having as he does the imprimatur of Archbishop Paul Ryan tells you all you need to know. Another deep-stater who’s played hard on some of Trump’s personal weaknesses. There’s a whole slew of articles out there delineating how this creature has been working overtime to curry favor with the President. And it’s not to further any of DJT’s campaign promises. Be afraid. Be very afraid, if he gets the nod.
