Those who perpetually live in a rut can not comprehend that one can change when presented with better circumstances
A lot of people would say that McCarthy is a weak-kneed surrender monkey. He gets a C from NumbersUSA, and probably is worse than that ideologically. He gets a big fat nasty F from conservative review, which ranks him as one of the top ten RINOs in the House.
What about him makes you say that McCarthy would be a good choice?
McCarthy is considered to be one of the worst surrender monkeys in Congress. A big, fat, nasty “F” from Conservative Review, among their top 10 RINOS. And pretty bad on immigration, too: A “C” from the far more generous NumbersUSA. (Even McCain got a “C”!!!)
After the spending bill, I think it’s fair to say that a vote for McCarthy is a vote for Pelosi.
WOW! Kevin McCarthy gets a lower score than Mitch McConnell!!! Conservative Review ranked McConnell worse because McConnell is Senate Majority Leader.
Hed be awesome as Speaker. The right political philosophy, Trump supporter, driven.
Is that you, mccarthy???
>> I have noticed that there is a pretty good rapport between McCarthy and President Trump. I think that is critical. <<
REALLY??? Because McCarthy as majority leader hasn’t done CRAP to advance Trump’s agenda. Then again, Trump talks about great rapport with EVERYONE he meets.
No need to be a congressman. I say Sarah.
McCarthy is a mega-creepy HOPe RINO slime. How could you possibly support him?
Jim Jordan would be good but I don’t see 218 votes for him. It’s either McCarthy who will be terrible or Scalia’s who is only marginally better.
Next month? How about next week, too many things are happening to have a lame duck speaker for even a few weeks!
I’m all for that—I just am not used to seeing the Swamp Lizards move at that speed!
I want a Speaker who says this . . . and means it.
I guess I was just being silly. When the President conducted his round table about the “Wall”, the dems around the table started talking about “border security” and we all know what that means to them. It means NO WALL and just the usual weak security.
Well, after a while, I thought, wow, the President is being snookered, because he was nodding his head and say Yes that is important. Then, Kevin leaned forward and started explaining, quite clearly what was happening. He said, I’m paraphrasing, BUT, we do want the WALL, first. And then the President seemed to understand that the dems were playing their usual games and he vehemently agreed about the WALL. No one else at the table came to the President’s aid. Now, I find out that Kevin is a political leper. So, my judgement is so POOR, that I shall never voice an opinion on Free Republic again. I got ten replies, for God’s sake.
Don't feel bad. Whenever I post a comment in direct response to an article, and not targeting a FReeper's comment, I either end up with someone spewing personal insults at me--or my comment gets completely ignored. It's almost like there's an algorithm out there set up to do this. I've given up trying to figure out the mechanism here. I'm only human, afterall.....
Voicing an opinion is fine... Okay, dangerous on FR, I’ll admit... but speaking out of ignorance on an issue so critical to national survival is never advisable.
And yeah, what McCarthy REALLY meant was, “Well, I’d support the wall if there were 434 Republicans in the House and 99 in the Senate, but given the fact that Democrats exist, there’s nothing I can do because I’d hate to actually have to oppose Nancy Pelosi.”
Thank you for my first smile of the day.
Thank you for erasing the smile on my face by calling me ignorant.
As is tradition when I see Jim Jordan posts, here he is kicking the shit out of 2X Olympic Wrestling champ John Smith....
