Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan is getting pressure to throw his name into the mix to replace outgoing Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, but he is not yet willing to say whether or not he intends to make a bid for the speakership in the coming months.
Whats important is not who the next speaker is, but what the next speaker does, Jordan told The Daily Caller News Foundation. Its time to start delivering on what we told the American people we would do.

The next speaker should be elected now. Paul Ryan will do what he can to blow up the GOP majority. He should resign ASAP.
As much as i want JJ as SOH, its sadly going to be McMcCarthy.
I really like Jim Jordan, but I really think Kevin McCarthy would be a good choice.
So you suspect McCarthy might get it.
How do these two compare on immigration and congressional oversight investigations?
How do they compare on immigration and congressional oversight investigations?
Jordan would be a good pick though in my book.

I think they are on the same page.
I have noticed that there is a pretty good rapport between McCarthy and President Trump. I think that is critical.
You got that right!
Thank you for the input. I don’t know many of these guys if they weren’t on C-Span back in the mid-90s.
A good choice. so it is less likely to happen.
The GOP has decided to protect Obama, to protect
traitors and seditionists, and to lie, to lie, to lie,
to deceive, to lie, and DESERVEDLY die.
I see McCarthy, who stepped up at a round table meeting to voice strong support for President Trump’s policies, as someone on whom we could count on to support the president.
Until I see that crack in support, I shall not change my mind.
I still like both of them. I could never accept that one must make a choice that pits one good man against another.
I nominate Ted Nugent as speaker.
It is up to FReepers, and TeaParty, and AFP, and all kinds of good people to choose the best candidate in the primaries who can win in November for House and Senate.
If we do our job between now and November, we will get what we deserve. If we do not do our job, then too we will get what we deserve.
Ted Nugent? Good Point. The Speaker does not have to be a member of the House. I could live with NEWT.
Steve Scalise appears to be a much better candidate for the job than McCarthy.
Seconded.
The next speaker should be named this month. And Jim Jordan would be absolutely fantastic. It means the House would go MAGA and be held in November. There could be hope for budgets and reining in spending once more. Getting the feds back closer to their limited, constitutional role.
