No, the Democratic Party isn’t ‘divided’ or in ‘disarray’
The Washington Post ^ | April 5, 2018 | By Paul Waldman

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) hasn’t lost his ability to make Democrats mad, and once again, he has triggered an intraparty kerfuffle on social media.

As we head towards the next presidential cycle, many people — on the right, the left and in the media — will be saying Democrats are in the throes of an identity crisis, a struggle for their party’s soul that will tear them apart. But they aren’t, and they won’t be. The Democratic Party screws up plenty and contains its share of idiots, but when it comes to its identity, it’s doing just fine.

On Wednesday, Sanders spoke at a commemoration event in Jackson, Miss., to mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of the Rev. Martin Luther King. BuzzFeed reporter Ruby Cramer quoted Sanders as saying:

“The business model, if you like, of the Democratic Party for the last 15 years or so has been a failure . . . People sometimes don’t see that because there was a charismatic individual named Barack Obama.”

In response, some folks revved right up to a now-familiar criticism of Sanders, namely that he always wants to subsume every issue — even the issue of racial justice, on the anniversary of King’s slaying — to economics.

Bernie Sanders should go ahead and keep offering his critique of the Democratic Party, and anyone who thinks he’s wrong should say so. It’s a healthy debate to have. But it doesn’t mean the Democrats have an identity problem.

Democrats are like Arab Bedouins: I, against my brothers. I and my brothers against my cousins. I and my brothers and my cousins against the world.

Despite their mutual hatred, when it comes time to advancing the Progressive agenda, they close rank and vote in lockstep.

BS.

They must think everyone has forgotten the corrupt spectacle the Democrats have publicly demonstrated for the past 2 years during the Trump era.

No—It’s just broke.

Everything else is fine, though.

Translation: Yes, the Democratic Party is divided and in disarray but we'll never admit to it.
On the other hand, the REPUBLICANS...

They are not democrats, they are communists. their idea of how to run the government would bankrupt the people, take all the guns they could find, and Christians would be their target.. conservatives next...

The generation that does not understand this, are the ones who will help them do all the above.

Sanders is no more anti-American or anti-Semitic or anti-Christian or anti-freedom than the DNC hierarchy (under Puppetmeister SorozNazi and his IslamoNazi dictatorship CO-conspirators)

HilLIARy’s policies would have been almost identical to ObamaPuppet’s policies, and to BernieTheRed’s policies

unless and until the millions of good, honest D voters wake up and throw out the evil usurpers of their party apparatus, USA will continue to be inflicted with this extremist Commie/Nazi cabal

What you posted is true of older Democrats. The younger Bernie Bros, however, have not forgotten the gigantic shaft the DNC gave them in ‘16.

Same for younger blacks. They won’t vote Republican, but they’ve awakened to the fact that all the Democrats want is their vote. If the Democrats run another black in 2020, the younger blacks will get onboard. For a white or a Hispanic, however, many if not most younger blacks will find something better to do on election day.

No, they’re not that divided. They are almost 100% anti-Christian, anti-America, anti-Constitution, anti-liberty, anti-gun, anti-religious freedom, anti-borders, anti-patriotism, anti-oil, anti-coal, anti-free markets, anti-industry, anti-marriage, anti-morality, etc, etc, etc.

First of all, Sanders is not a registered Democrat. He is a proud Socialist, and while I loathe anything on the Left side of the political spectrum, I can at least admire Sanders' honesty about his politics. Most Leftist politicians hide behind the Dem Party label, but are socialist/communist/Marxist through and through.

Secondly, the Dems are in disarray only in the sense that their various identity politics groups identify more with their own group and complaints than they do the Dem Party as a whole. The party is just a vehicle to advance their own particular agenda.

The Romans had the first form of Socialism—bread and the games of the circuses. This kept the hungry mobs quiet and the hard working middle class taxpayers paid the taxes for the building of the roads and aqueducts etc. Did the ruling class pay any taxes? The more things change the more they stay the same. Socialism also keeps the lower class quiet while the working classes have to pay the taxes. The top people who make the laws can play around with them to their liking—example: the Clinton have a “foundation” which they use as their personal slush fund while only a small amount of their money goes to their charity. Socialism benefits the ruling class and the middle class gets stuck with the bill.
