What about the health of the economy? Our rapidly rising national debt of $21 TRILLION is a spending disease that will debilitate the country and plunge us into a depression if we do not soon rein it in.

Healthcare is important to fund, but the national debt itself is a becoming a very serious crisis that will effect us all.

Exactly correct.

This article was obviously written by someone who thinks that we live in a democracy and NOT in a REPUBLIC.

Liberals are Idiots. There is no other way to say it.

Apology in advance for tone, as I woke on the wrong side of the bed, but where in the he** is healthcare listed as a mandated function of the government in the Constitution?

Neither Presidential candidate ran on a balanced budget platform. Trump promised big spending and big big military spending. He got it and most of us Freepers supported him.

Wikipedia says an omnibus bill is a “proposed law”.

What power does it have as compared with other forms of legislation?

Check out the two articles in this link. Ryan/McConnell & others tried to kneecap Trump and he may have a way out of the box they tried to put him in.

Like all the ones before it.. nothing but big govt taking money off you and your kids tables.. and yet, this is winning.. Lol. Insane to ever cast a ballot for the top. Lost gun freedoms and trillions more in debt.. makes Obama look conservative. At least then.. people put up a fight. Now we know the were not really fighting.

Just thought you’d like to see how much the budget went UP.

http://www.govexec.com/oversight/2018/03/see-how-much-your-agencys-spending-would-increase-under-2018-omnibus/146896/

Nothing much good in it at all according to Heritage:

https://www.heritage.org/budget-and-spending/report/the-good-bad-and-ugly-the-fiscal-year-2018-omnibus-appropriations-act

Why does it cost more even for things that are supposed to reduce costs?

The foreign aid cuts are paltry compared to the increases.

It isn’t winning and I’m wondering if it is intended NOT to be. Unless he pulls a big freaking rabbit out of the had trump just threw the mid-terms and his second term. As I read more about the omnibus it looks worse and worse. He may have done it on purpose. His tone in the signature ceremony said, “I give up.”. He did not like it much but he did it anyway. His not naming the two fighting type attorneys to his team also looks like resignation. Time will tell but it does not look good for MAGA to me.

I see trump riding the escalator back up to his penthouse having done all the can or is willing to do. He is a fellow who either accomplishes big things quickly or not at all and moves on to something else. Mover and shakers are not in it for the long hard slog. I’ve seen it before. It is just not glamorous enough or profitable enough and they don’t have the attention span for a slug fest. Reagan on the other hand enjoyed slugging it out.

We’ll be at $30 trillion in debt before too long. Too late to stop the train now.

All of the increases belong as optional expenditures of the states, not the federal government.

How can we unwind all of it?

We can unwind all of it with spending reductions coupled with proportional federal tax reductions. That will leave the money from the federal spending reductions in the pockets of the taxpayers in each state. Their state and local politicians can then ask the people, as state and local taxpayers, to give some of that money back so they, state and local politicians, can run comparable programs themselves - if they chose to.
