What about the health of the economy? Our rapidly rising national debt of $21 TRILLION is a spending disease that will debilitate the country and plunge us into a depression if we do not soon rein it in.

Healthcare is important to fund, but the national debt itself is a becoming a very serious crisis that will effect us all.

Just thought you’d like to see how much the budget went UP.

http://www.govexec.com/oversight/2018/03/see-how-much-your-agencys-spending-would-increase-under-2018-omnibus/146896/

Nothing much good in it at all according to Heritage:

https://www.heritage.org/budget-and-spending/report/the-good-bad-and-ugly-the-fiscal-year-2018-omnibus-appropriations-act

Why does it cost more even for things that are supposed to reduce costs?

The foreign aid cuts are paltry compared to the increases.

All of the increases belong as optional expenditures of the states, not the federal government.

How can we unwind all of it?

We can unwind all of it with spending reductions coupled with proportional federal tax reductions. That will leave the money from the federal spending reductions in the pockets of the taxpayers in each state. Their state and local politicians can then ask the people, as state and local taxpayers, to give some of that money back so they, state and local politicians, can run comparable programs themselves - if they chose to.
