"This is a type of indirect potable use — it's not treated recycle water that goes directly to someone's house," said Miryam Barajas at the Water Board. "It's highly treated."

It's got electrolytes!

49 years ago, when I was in Vietnam, I was intrigued at the way the cities and larger towns in Vietnam did their water.
Sinks had 3 faucets: hot, cold and potable.
The water from the hot and cold taps was filtered but not chlorine treated; only the potable tap was treated to get rid of bacteria. We don’t need chlorinated water for washing our cars, watering the lawn or washing clothing, we really only need it for drinking and cooking.

Sewage treatment plants all around the Great Lakes release treated water into the lakes. The cities around the Great Lakes all draw their drinking water from the lakes. So this principle is common and has been in use without harm for many years.

How is it different from living downstream of some other city and drawing your water from the same river into which their sewage treatment plant discharges?

Recycled sewer water is actually some of the purest water on the planet. I’d drink it straight, depending on the processing plant.

Wondering if the ruling elites drink that water, or have spring water delivered and billed to the taxpayers.

sewage is separated. Storm drainage and bodily waste.

The strom drainage should be ok when treated.

The other should be recycled for agricultural irrigation.

Why not. CA has sewer people in the legistlature, a sewer governor, sewer actors, sewer senators, and, of course, the country’s greatest sh*thole in San Francisco.
