Cameron Ross Burgess, known as just Cam to many friends, was a normal college student at Auburn University who liked to travel to the beach, watch movies and play video games, a former college friend said.

I have a friend who worked in a ‘non-Washington DC’ field office who spent a lot of time on searching evidence......said that where a person commits suicide is always a clue. Many don’t kill themselves in random places, they go to specific places as a message.
I can see how a “traditional conservative” trying to do what is right by abused children within the confines of a modern, leftist-controlled “social services” system would become extremely frustrated, dejected and distraught - and, if he had no outlet for his frustrations, possibly suicidal.

I care even less; I didn't even open the thread or post in it.
I read the entire article wanting to know why this selfish kid shot himself. When the head line asks the question, the article should have answered it. We were given no clue to why he had depression. Didn’t any of his friends ask? Didn’t he tell his friends anything about his feelings? What were those texts saying? What are friends for if not to help one another when there is a problem. Not so here unless he did have a problem that his friends want to hide. What are they hiding? Did they goad him into making a statement of protest for all of their perceived hatred of the Trump Administration? Did they know that Burgess’ nature could be manipulated so he would act on their encouragement? Something made Burgess believe that sacrificing his life on behalf of others is not suicide but a noble act.

The difference in suicide rates has been higher for males than females, for quite a long time.
1950 was a high for both males and females, but even then the distance between the two rates was not dramatically higher, with males then much higher than females.
Both rates dropped similarly from 1950 to 2000, maintaining the general distance between them, and have risen similarly from 2000 to today.
My general impetus was to blame “feminism”, but the problem goes back too far.
