I read the entire article wanting to know why this selfish kid shot himself. When the head line asks the question, the article should have answered it. We were given no clue to why he had depression. Didn’t any of his friends ask? Didn’t he tell his friends anything about his feelings? What were those texts saying? What are friends for if not to help one another when there is a problem. Not so here unless he did have a problem that his friends want to hide. What are they hiding? Did they goad him into making a statement of protest for all of their perceived hatred of the Trump Administration? Did they know that Burgess’ nature could be manipulated so he would act on their encouragement? Something made Burgess believe that sacrificing his life on behalf of others is not suicide but a noble act.
there is speculation that he was involved in some whistleblower capacity re: uncovering sexual abuse in his area.. mentioned by Q as relevant..
