In December, the Daily Caller reported on the “verbally abusive” environment that Chris Matthews has created on the Hardball set, adding that people “felt like they had to ‘walk on eggshells’ around their ‘abusive’ boss.”

Matthews flashed that thin skin on this evening’s Hardball. When guest David Corn politely pointed out that the TV series in question was “Homeland,” not “Homefront” as Matthews had said, Matthews snapped:

“You going to keep correcting me?”

While not an earth-shaking moment, this does expose Matthews as a thin-skinned guy, confirming the portrait that the Daily Caller has painted of him as an “abusive” boss that forces people to “walk on eggshells” around him.

Many of Chris’s peer group are either retiring, may soon retire or have been effectively sent out to pasture. People like Bill O’Reily for instance. No one expected him to be so quickly weeded out of the conversation. Maybe Chris is getting nervous about job security.
