Students, parents and staff at C.K. McClatchy High School are upset over a science fair project by a student in its elite magnet program that questioned whether certain races of people lack the intelligence to handle the program’s academically challenging coursework.

If a White Male openly backs his White Male Candidate he is either a sexist, racist, homophobe, islamaphobe, Asian hater, Brown skin hater—fill in an appropriate answer.

...

If a White Male openly backs an ‘other’ candidate, he is considered an open minded, progressive HERO (while the vote is needed)?

...

It's best to precede stuff like this with "There is somebody somewhere who will say ..."

And there is always somebody somewhere who will say (who is saying right now) just about anything.

Whether there's any more to it than that is harder to say.

It seems like half of the political discussion we read on the Internet now is picking out people who say something wrong or outrageous and imagining that they are all the world, and it's just one person who says otherwise.

all human beings have identical potential in terms of intelligence and that the only reason for differences was lack of resources or education. I don’t know anyone intelligent who believes that now.

No one honestly believed it then but saw it as a huge education and Democrat vote buying gravy train they could ride. The ends (especially theirs) justifies the means.

Slavery is not gone. Muslims still have slave markets. See Libya as a for instance.

Now our policy is, among other things, the minimum score on any test must be 50 points. So if a kid puts his name on the test, then goes to sleep, 50 points!

I'm afraid the contention that stricter standards would close the achievement gap will remain an unanswered question for the foreseeable future. There might be a few magnet schools and other specialized situations that make some progress, but beyond that...

I have noticed that several universities are starting curricula in social justice and will offer SJ majors. If identity politics and ethnic studies didn't solve the problems, maybe social justice majors will.

Blacks are admitting that they are unequal and have an inability to compete in business with their calls for quotas and equality of opportunity. They don’t call for these things in professional basketball or football.

That we are still having these discussion after decades and decades of trying to ‘close the gap’ means we don’t have a clue on how to fix it.

From the linked article: "The HISP program is designed to promote cultural awareness and sensitivity. "

One might ask why ALL students are not in a program to "promote cultural awareness and sensitivity".

The reason would seem to be that the HISP program is also "academically challenging".

I see a couple of facts that a person evaluating the situation should know:

1. The proportion of blacks (and others) in the HISP program is different than the proportion of such people in the population from which the participants are selected.

2. The program has existed for some time with the disparity shown without providing an explanation to the students or the community.

3. Students were never informed that some hypotheses for explaining the two facts above are unacceptable and must not be proposed as part of class assignments.

4. It remains unclear whether the hypothesis that program administrators are racist is among the acceptable hypotheses or not.

I agree about focusing on the individual when it comes to a test, job ect. I think most would. I also believe that What you say about group B, they ve already been doing, for a long time. The result of not teaching christian ethics, but liberal silliness, has led to group B having the wrong attitude toward group A.

And so can people then apply the same to stupid things whites say and do, because Chuck Shumer, Pelosi, Kennedy, Bush, Debbie Schulz, Jerry Brown, most white media reporters?

Accedotial observations are not a basis to make sweeping generalizations about people because it absolves you of treating people as individuals.

Are you dumb because they are? No?

So sorry, you are completely wrong.

All true. But another truth is that evolutionary pressures are manifested in genetic expressions.

Fish continue to grow, reptiles regenerate tails. It's only a matter of time before these kinds of genetic characteristics will be replicated in humans.

Imagine the opportunities for gene therapies applied to the regions of neo-cortex to facilitate improved cognitive functions. What about skin tones, hair types, etc?

The market will dictate what is truth and whether there is demand for improvement.

These guys don’t care.

As far as they are concerned blacks are all idiots, sight unseen, but will then scream at the left for their equally abhorent attitudes and disparaging comments, while extolling “individuals excelling to their fullest” philosophies and judging people by the content of the character, which some here obviously don’t believe in one iota.

They just hide behind a graph as a cover.

Individuals are judged as part of a collective.
