“War means fighting, and fighting means killing.”

He tweeted it and I hope he follows through on it in the end.

I don’t think that is going to happen. Erdogan has his own domestic reasons for attacking Kurds and we are not going to stop him in that.

Obama is missing in this picture. To unite the three bitter enemies (for millenia) to each other is quite a legacy.

Another update:
US F-15 fighters, Apache helicopters, heavy artillery and special ops forces took part Thursday, Feb. 8 in the early morning attack against pro-Assad, Hizballah and Shiite forces who were crossing the Euphrates to eastern Syria. DEBKAfile’s exclusive sources report that the US special operations forces posted on the river’s east bank saw a Russian team of military engineers laying a floating bridge across the river 8km north of Deir ez-Zour. Around 500 Syrian commandos, Hizballah and Shiite militiamen, under Iranian command, were sighted about to make the crossing. US jets and helicopters went into action when the crossing began, destroying the bridge. US special operations waiting on the eastern bank wiped out the Syrian allied force as it landed, as well the the bridgehead they had started setting up. US-led coalition spokesmen estimated that up to 100 Syrian and Hizballah fighters lost their lives in the engagement, possibly including some Russians. There were no American casualties. https://www.debka.com/us-strike-russians-laid-euphrates-bridge-among-targets/

and a lot of Putin-bots on FreeRepublic

They ebb and flow. I remember how thick they were during the war in Kosovo.

According to the links below about 10 % of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wagner_Group are Cargo-200 (in body sacks) after the attack.

About 200:

Girkin says it is about 644 https://donpress.com/news/11-02-2018-bolee-600-girkin-soobshchil-nastoyashchie-poteri-chvk-vagner-v-sirii

Cargo 200 refers to bodies contained in zinc-lined coffins, but in military context this code word can be used for dead bodies as they are transported from the battlefield.

Cargo 300 is the code for wounded soldiers

You’re such an astute historian. The insight of your analysis exceeds imagination!

It’s not like Muslims have been killing one another since 700AD or anything. Poor Islamic states—I don’t know how they’ve survived the wiles of those scheming Western colonialists. It’s incredible that they’ve been able to amass their large fortunes under such repression.

Thanks AdmSmith.
The US has launched rare air strikes in eastern Syria to thwart and attack on allied Kurdish and Arab fighters aligned to Syria's government. Some 500 fighters had tried to take ground captured from the Islamic State (IS) group by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)... Some US forces are embedded with the SDF but they suffered no casualties... The pro-government forces had been backed by artillery, tanks and other heavy weaponry when the attacked an SDF headquarters "eight kilometers (5 miles) east of the agreed-upon Euphrates River de-confliction line", US officials said...

I know that you’re being sarcastic. But I’m only stating what the tactics for colonialization and the take over of large multiethnic or populations that are Balkanized. I just meant the it’s easy to control people if they’re divided and killing or hating each other and to busy paying attention to the puppet masters. Think about african-americans, gays and uneducated supporters of the democratic party.

As far as “rich” Muslims fortunes, It will be gone in 1-2 generations unless they sit down and figure out how to diversify an economy. I think you mistook me pointing out tactics and strategic positioning. It’s just convenient for the Sunni and Sharia factions that are killing each other and dragging Christians and Jews into it.
Israel will never allow a nuclear Iran. 100 nukes makes you a super power, one nuke makes you a target. Personally, I’m glad they’re killing each other by the truck load. Better there than here. But I’m just funny that way.

Look at Iran on a map, notice anything funny? Do a google search or talk to some friends in the armed forces about our presence in Tajikistan, increased air/ground forces in Afghanistan with liberal ROI, Azerbaijan is getting on board, Turkey is not as stable as they think, etc...... I think Pakistan may get in a fight with India (our friend.) They may help out if the ball drops. I’m getting popcorn and some hot dogs. Should be fun. How many patents and nobel prize winners from the mideast? They’ll be sitting with all this expensive and complicated machinery and won’t be able to maintain or use it....hahahahaha Venezuela anyone?

Just ponder this little dilemma, what does Israel do if a truck bomb nuke hits their country or port.......? Now think about what happens if a nuke goes off on a container ship in Houston, New York, Los Angeles, Miami...etc..... Not even a “big” nuke. The Muslims, liberals and civil libertarians need to ask American Japanese what happens when we get our knicker in a twist. They blow up buildings and cities..... we burn down countries.

As for the “wealth” of the Arabs. It’s like the mulitimillionaire stated, “if I gave you all my money and had nothing, you’d be broke in several years and I’d be rich again.

. Remember how “rich” the Spanish and Italians were.

I’m fully cognizant of the death of empires, and Balkanization as a strategy. It’s a favorite ploy of tyrants throughout history. I have some insight in the region, probably more than most.

Suffice to say, I am under no illusion regarding the legitimacy of the conflicts or altruistic nature of any of the belligerents. It has cost many souls, and I’m not talking about those killed by the reign of terror. It’s the cost of corruption when a nation allies itself with evil.

Nothing good has come from this entire misadventure, and more evil lurks on the horizon. The difference being we have a new administration led by a man who is not part of the Machiavellian players guild. I maintain hope that God may stay his hand, though I cannot say any of us deserve such mercy.

There are no innocents among the powers, and many of our decent military members have lost their innocence through enforced association and cultural relativism. We still have good men in military prisons for doing exactly what any moral man does when confronted by evil incarnate.

If you think Trump is not part of the Machiavellian group, then you’re naive my friend. Trump is amazing and a natural at tapping into a crowd or an audience. As far as motives, eh, don’t reqally care.

Just feeling a little fortunate that HRC is now the punch line for jokes about pant suits, depends and stumbling. She’s just so unlikable that it’s actually pathetic. She’s all alone surrounded by parasites and conniving toadies.

Just the photo of her eating breakfast all by herself made me smile. Like it’s been said, I’ve never wished death upon anyone, but I’ve read some obituaries with a smile.
