Public Minnesota Kindergarten Class Teaches Children About ‘White Privilege’
Breitbart ^ | 2/2/18

Posted on 02/03/2018 1:21:15 AM PST by Altura Ct.

A public school district in Minnesota is taking a radical social justice approach to the education of their youngest children.

Young students in the Edina School District in Edina, Minnesota, will be introduced to the concept of “white privilege” as early as kindergarten, according to a new report from the Weekly Standard. The report details some of the unusual practices of the district.

As a result, the school system’s obsession with “white privilege” now begins in kindergarten. At Edina’s Highlands Elementary School, for example, K-2 students participate in the Melanin Project. The children trace their hands, color them to reflect their skin tone, and place the cut-outs on a poster reading, “Stop thinking your skin color is better than anyone elses!-[sic] Everyone is special!”

If teaching kindergarten-aged students about “white privilege” wasn’t unique enough, Edina also submits their bus drivers to social justice re-education. Bus drivers for the Edina School District were required to attend a workshop that instructed them on how to “dismantl[e] white privilege.”

The training session was entitled “Edina School District Equity and Racial Justice Training: Moving from a Diversity to a Social Justice Lens.” In it, trainers instructed bus drivers that “dismantling white privilege” is “the core of our work as white folks,” and that working for the Edina schools requires “a major paradigm shift in the thinking of white people.” Drivers were exhorted to confess their racial guilt, and embrace the district’s “equity” ideology.

Public schooling itself is a challenge. As not all children have the same fortes, nor should they be expected to. But nevertheless that’s how they get administered in our systems.

God does not lessen the giving of one gift without giving more of another gift. Is there such a thing as white privilege? If there is, it would be a superficial thing. A societal assumption, a societal norming. But that’s not going to work as well in the mixed inner city as it will in white bread suburbs. How much better it would be to be very libertarian about progress in our schools? That students wouldn’t even necessarily step together in regimented grades, but proceed as they can along what their skills make possible?

I can explain what happens when a bright kid gets into an averaged, regimented, stepped system. He gets lazy. I was that kid.

The school board needs to take a boat excursion out on Lake Superior. The boat would have some millstones on board.

I say not so fast. Maybe the way we are doing our schools is inadvertently bestowing these “privilege” ideas, and even these lefty notions are the way some people are trying to wriggle out of this constrictive norming. It might be far from the best way, but neither is reflexively throwing those who are complaining in the lake. We need to break out of the socialism mold.

Could someone please sue these public schools for racial discrimination and stop this horrible practice of labeling and blaming Caucasians?

The true racists and people breaking the law are the people constantly blaming other people of racism and then they themselves act racist.

The bigger problem here, I believe, is implicit socialism in schooling.

If your student body is varied enough, this is going to overchallenge some and underchallenge others.

Why not let students go where the good Lord prepares them to best go.

So the assumption is that white kindergarten children are racist and need to be disciplined.

If we have a system that’s inherently socialist, then the chief question about it becomes “Whose socialism is it? Who controls it? Who norms it?”

The problem isn’t “Who,” folks! The problem is that we even need a “Who.” While that remains the case, I can guaran-blessed-tee ya that people groups who differ widely on the bell curve are going to fight over it. “Yer privileging yerselves!” “No! Yer dumbing us down!”

I am not skilled in educational theory. Could something like a Montessori system get around this? Just a term I’ve heard buzzed around.

Pretty much... dumb them down so that the rest don’t upset the socialist balance

And maybe school segregation wasn’t the very very worst thing from one point of view. If you were going to be socialist, you might as well have tiers of it to reduce the pain.

Let’s do away with the socialism and I think a lot of other “inequality” based ills will depart along with it.

This is pure racism. This needs to be restated every single time they bring up “white privilege”.

What a bigoted, hateful thing to do to little White children! Any parent who subjects their child to such brainwashing is guilty of child abuse.

“Stop thinking your skin color is better than anyone elses!"

I actually could live with that statement. At face value, it ends racial politics once and for all.

“Stop thinking your skin color is better than anyone elses!-[sic] Everyone is special!”

If everyone is special that means I am special.

If I am special, what is it about me that makes me special?

Maybe what makes me special is my skin color. Maybe my skin color is better.

Good thing the American people are homeschooling on this subject and many more. Do you think we are going to sit by and allow this. Teaching the next generation to hate who they are and to be hated.

This is a soapbox issue for me. Sorry for the rant

I’m using my vote on the council of White Males to revoke the school board members in this town’s rights to use any item developed or invented by whites. That is the only way they can give up their privilege.

1. You female teacher take off all your clothes. The Aniline dyes that color their clothes were invented in Germany and Belgium by white guys. Those Blue Jeans, Genoa, Italy more white guys but the Indigo coloring came from INDIA so you’re doing cultural appropriation as well. That knitted T-shirt, well the machines for that were invented in England, as well power looms for normal cloth. More white guys. Modern shoes were invented in Florence, Italy again, more white guys. Silk, sorry unless you’re Chinese it’s cultural appropriation. Cotton, nope unless you’re Egyptian or Ethiopian. Wool, well maybe but it probably was first spun in the Middle East though nobody really knows for sure. Hey do you realize that the men who invented your i-phone were not only white but, I think, Jewish as well? What kind of Zionist is still invested in Jewish things?

Your automobile was invented by Mr. Ford and Mr. Benz, white guys.

The books you read are made of Chinese paper, printed using a Roman alphabet, with ink devised by a German or British chemist in the early 20th century. So a book is both white privilege and cultural appropriation.

It was a white scientist that cured polio and smallpox. Modern medicine has been dominated by white researchers for 1000 years.

Almost everything those teachers wear, eat, read, use or need was either invented by a white man or is stolen from another culture. In fact, even the English language is an amalgam of other languages so speaking English is a cultural appropriation.

So, if they want to give up their White Privilege they need to be cold, naked, starving, sick and mute.
