That’s a good point that I’ve been posting here for a long time. A Congressional hearing is a political proceeding first and foremost, not a legal proceeding.

Qanon is the latest agency effort to manipulate the altrernate media. Google a topic of interest and see how many qanon citations pop up. Don’t be sucked into the vortex. [BTW, pronounce the name as ‘cannon’ and you get a clue]

Good point about the six-year term limit as committee chairs.
We had an unusual announcement here in New Jersey this week, though. GOP Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen announced that he's retiring from Congress after his current term representing the 11th District. His announcement came shortly after he finished just his first year in one of the most highly prized committee chairmanships: the House Appropriations Committee.

People forget that the head of a committee doesn't have any power to initiate a criminal prosecution. All Gowdy had the power to do was hold hearings, push for evidence, etc..You're wasting your time. I've tried making that point a hundred times. Some people don't want to know the facts, their minds are already made up.

New republicans will be a lot more MAGA.

Gowdy is probably tired of the smell of being in the DC sewer. Either that or since he’s been bird dogging the criminal Hag, maybe he’s been made an offer he can’t refuse. Wait to see what happens to Nunes next.
To: SoFloFreeper
For several years Gowdy has been planning on not staying in Congress, it has not been a secret. He has always planned to time-limit himself.

Had Gowdy not done what he did, Hillary might be President today.
Not might; WOULD.

I will miss his well rehearsed Kabuki Theatre.
He is the Kabuki King.
He would make an excellent Judge or Federal DA.

Yup, Q predicted this.
Seemed to be referring to his leaving the House Ethics Committee but also teasing that TG might be walking into something else.

“And the new head of the FBI is.............”
No. Trump has repeatedly stated that he has confidence in Wray, his own appointee (even if recommended by others). IF TG is to go to the FBI, perhaps it’ll be as deputy director to replace McCorrupt. Either that, or as a replacement for Sessions, or as a Circuit Court judge (to possibly be named to the USSC later, after gaining some judicial experience).
All speculation. Maybe he just wants to rake in a couple million bucks/year as a lobbyist/lawyer, and run for Senate in a few years?

Q was right. The reason “WHY” is yet to be known.
With Gowdy it could go either way, hero or zero.
He “TALKS” a good game. Never delivers anything. A real show horse.
I think we aren’t losing much with his departure.

Why continue to use people we have to replace in the Senate or Congress, there are more good men and women elsewhere in the US. This makes me wonder about the real reason so many republicans are jumping ship and when the dems turn is coming.
