They don't forget someone says it overtime Gowdy is brought up. Fact is when the Democrats control Justice we don't ever expect a case to come out of a Republican investigation, but Justice belongs to the Republicans now, so think of another excuse.

I have no clue what that first sentence even means.

As for the second sentence, that has zero to do with Gowdy. He's in Congress, not the Justice Department, so he still lacks the authority to bring an indictment. If you're angry about Justice not bringing some indictment, why are you blaming Gowdy?

Gowdy did his job well with limited power. I wish him well and who amongst us wouldn't want to leave that sh1thole in DC. He can go into private practice and with his name recognition he will have plenty of business. Just please don't let Jim Jordon from Ohio leave.

People sure like to jump to conclusions. Trey as said for years that he had no intention of staying in Congress long term.

If, for example, he wants to be Governor of SC he's got a really good shot at it now. As Governor he could actually get something done, too, rather than being the Chair of a "prestigious" committee that has no authority to do anything but takes heat for not doing anything anyway.

I liked TG... he seems like a smart dude. Would love to see him as a replacement for Sessions.

I’m thinking Deputy AG (which is about to become vacant), with SCOTUS down the road.

“I’m thinking Deputy AG”

That would put him in charge of Mueller.

I don’t know about SCOTUS but a federal judgeship for sure would be in his future. Perhaps then he could stop talking a good game and actually play one.

The Gowdy chirpers are never ending
“Rep. Gowdy’s work with the House Select Committee on Benghazi is what started the downfall of Hillary Clinton and set the stage for the election of President Trump. Gowdy got tagged with the Chair of the committee. It was his investigatory work that turned up and made public the fact that Clinton was using a private server to store her official and classified e-mails instead of the legally mandated State Department server.

Because of this discovery operatives in the FBI, CIA and NSA among others had to CY Hillary’s A. Trump was able to rightfully campaign on the issue of two-tiered justice where submariner’s go to jail and liberal elites get rich. The cover up was almost as bad as the crime. Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page all have been ensnared with the cover-up and has undermined the Mueller investigation.

Speaking of, because of Hillary’s weakness the Obama cabal had to concoct the Steele dossier which if IG Horowitz is the investigator that I think he is will provide Gowdy and Jeff Sessions, that’s right Sessions, with plenty of ammo to take a big bite out of the swamp. Gowdy’s work on Benghazi was the opening salvo in making all of this happen. He did his investigation the right way. He had dimotards like Elijah Cummings, the MSM, deep state operatives like Comey and Lynch working against him.

If he had been the director of the FBI I have no doubt that Hillary would be in jail but as a House committee chair he didn’t have that constitutional mandate. I am beginning to believe that Gowdy is scaring the bejesus out of folks and that he is why he is being attacked so aggressively. You Gowdy haters need to step back and take a deep breath. He has and folks like Jason Chavetz and others created the conditions to take down the deep state. Cut the man some slack.”

??? He was the most successful federal prosecutor in the history of the DOJ why wouldn’t he use his craft in private practice? He doesn’t need a leg up to be successful. Gowdy would be successful at whatever he chooses to do

It could be Trey is just tired of congressional inaction with no end in sight....and just tired of dealing with ineffective leaders, dishonorable RINO Republicans and seamy, nasty Democrats every day.

He'll get a great retirement package and will be able to be with his family more.

Take a look at ex-congressman, Jason Chaffetz, who has a great and well-paying gig at Fox...which, in turn, helps him get well-paid fees for writing articles or as a speaker on the lucrative creamed-chicken circuit.

Trey will get a zillion offers from law enforcement entities and/or private businesses after he retires....if he doesn't have one already.

I will miss him, but I can understand why he wants to get out of the fetid DC Swamp if that's his desire.
