Victor Davis Hanson: Hillary’s ‘Sure’ Victory Explains Most Everything
NRO ^ | Victor Davis Hanson

Hillary Clinton herself was not worried about even the appearance of scandal caused by transmitting classified documents over a private home-brewed server, or enabling her husband to shake down foreign donations to their shared foundation, or destroying some 30,000 emails. Evidently, she instead reasoned that she was within months of becoming President Hillary Clinton and therefore, in her Clintonesque view of the presidency, exempt from all further criminal exposure. Would a President Clinton have allowed the FBI to reopen their strangely aborted Uranium One investigation; would the FBI have asked her whether she communicated over an unsecure server with the former president of the United States?

Former attorney general Loretta Lynch, in unethical fashion, met on an out-of-the-way Phoenix tarmac with Bill Clinton, in a likely effort to find the most efficacious ways to communicate that the ongoing email scandal and investigation would not harm Hillary Clinton’s candidacy. When caught, thanks to local-news reporters who happened to be at the airport, Lynch sort of, kind of recused herself. But, in fact, at some point she had ordered James Comey not to use the word “investigation” in his periodic press announcements about the FBI investigation.

How could Lynch in the middle of an election have been so silly as to allow even the appearance of impropriety? Answer: There would have been no impropriety had Hillary won...

*skip*

How could former deputy director of the FBI Andrew McCabe assume an oversight role in the FBI probe of the Clinton email scandal when just months earlier his spouse had run for state office in Virginia and had received a huge $450,000 cash donation from Common Good VA, the political-action committee of long-time Clinton-intimate Terry McAuliffe?

Again, the answer was clear. McCabe assumed that Clinton would easily win the election.

One of those articles you wish would not end it is so good. Really illuminates the corruption of the Bitch and her hangers-on.

VDH hits the nail on the head here. The entire culture in DC is geared around loyalists being rewarded for abuses of power, racketeering, and other organized crime. This is why once-humble suburbs of DC are now the priciest neighborhoods in the country.

I just heard Trey Gowdy being interviewed on Fox and Friends. The man is hopeless. Had nothing but praise for McCabe. Said he did not know why he quit. Said he was a professional.

Gowdy has read the memo. He has read the text.

Again, Gowdy is hopeless.

I am tempted at times, to wish the GOP would embrace the no holds barred, no rules attitude of the Dems. They never under any circumstances throw one of their own overboard in the midst of a scandal, Teddy Kennedy and Clinton come to mind. On our side, if there is even so much of a hint of impropriety, they’re gone, generally. But then I remember, what we have honor and standards.

Guys, no one important is going down. The elites might designate a few sacrificial lambs, but the ‘important’ people can’t be touched.
Washington, DC is a vermin infested house of dirty, corrupt, rotting cards. If anybody talks, and they will before going to jail, the whole thing falls apart.
The DoJ is at least as corrupt as the rest of DC, both the investigators and the judges. They are not going to allow this.
I wish it was not true, but we watched the kabuki show for almost 8 years under Obama. They are not going to let Pres. Trump interfere.

BAMN, indeed.

Only those that govern themselves are governable.

All gangs, cartels, etc. are autocracies.

I agree, Hillary was a sure thing. Imagine the swallowing on election night when they all realized the curtain was coming down.

The difference between the Bakers and the Clintons is:

At least one of them served prison time.

Don’t think the Bakers had anyone whacked.

Jim had the affair, but I don’t recall him being accused of raping and/or assaulting multiple women for DECADES.

The Bakers only ran a “ministry”; no one was compelled to watch or join. The Clintons were in charge of all of us here in the USA.
The Bakers could not raise our taxes by force so they could misuse it. The Bakers could not aid terrorist enemies of ours. The Bakers could not have started any war.

When religious leaders go bad, it’s peanuts compared to our politicians. All people have to do is tune out and they go out of business.

They are nowhere near what corrupt politicians are.
