Muslims are Converting to Christianity in Record Numbers
National Catholic Register ^ | Patti Armstrong

Posted on 01/26/2018 1:04:07 PM PST by GoldenState_Rose

We are in a time of the first ever mass conversions of Muslims,” Father Mitch Pacwa SJ told me in a phone interview. “God is doing a mighty work among them.”

Pacwa said that mass conversions are happening even in very fundamentalist countries. There is rapidly growing number of conversions especially on the edges of the Muslim world in the western and southern parts of Africa, he said. “Africa is now growing predominantly Christian despite crackdowns,” Pacwa said.

Some of the noteworthy countries he mentioned include Iran, reported to have 3 million Christians, and Indonesia with reports of 2 million a year converting.

“In Mongolia, the president opened the country to Christians and there’s even an archbishop,” Pacwa said. “They built a Catholic school there too. If I was younger, I would have gone.” He said that the desire for a Western education was the impetus to open up the country to the Catholic Church.

There are even conversions happening in many strict Muslim countries, according to Pacwa. He did not want to go on record with particulars for fear of increased retribution. Mass conversions are also being reported among refugees that are filling up the Christian churches left empty by Europeans. Many wonder if those are authentic conversions or just a response to improving their chances for amnesty, but time will tell.

Signs of this conversion are showing up in the U.S. too, Pacwa said. “I was about to celebrate Mass at a Maronite church in San Diego and I said hi to a man who introduced himself as Achmad. I asked if he was a Christian. He said: ‘Yes, I was recently baptized.’ He said he from Morocco. Christians do not have the name Ahmad—that’s a form of Mohammad.”

>>Are you saying Catholics aren’t Christians?<<

Of course he’s saying that! Don’t you know that only biblical fundamentalists are Christians, i.e., those who believe only what their preacher preaches?

“Go look up all the ancient churches that weren’t Roman. Let me know if any of them look like where you go on Sunday.”

Hmmm...

Christ:

19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet.
20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”
21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.
23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Luke:

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.

There is nothing inspired about Greek or Roman architecture. God left no architectural commands in Scripture.

As a Catholic, I’d like them to start with Christianity and just wait until Commie Frank is gone. The Tucson region has great Protestant churches. I’d listen to their radio broadcasts to and from Mass. ( Why? It’s all about the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. )

Great post, worth thinking about deeply and adding it to my store of understanding how civilization developed. Thank-you.

{You are right, There is a HUGE difference.

The Great Brit Christians had the philosophical brain fart that provided the spark of rights, liberty and freedom in the Magna Carta. This came at the height of the Christian crusades. Once they learned they could own things... then they saw the development of patent law, the buying and selling of ideas, then the development of the sciences, math, engineering etc etc.... leading into inventions and creativity in the industrial revolution resulting in the dominance of Great Britain.

Nobody else did this, no other nations, no other groups of Christians... not those in Rome, not Eastern Christians ....who are as backwards and messed like muslim nations.

So yes, there are huge differences}

>> Romans can trust Christ, but it is harder to see truth when it is covered by falsehood. That is the problem.<<

Yes, and what makes it even harder to see truth is that there are so many conflicting (and therefore false) protestant interpretations of it, from Quakers to Snake Handlers, Adventists to Baptists, Anglicans to Pentecostals, Methodists to Presbyterians, etc., etc., ad infinitum.

My, my, all of that can be attributed to the apostasy of that Augustinian monk and his protege Henry??

That was me not Campion.

And I say again. If Rome apostasized, where? And when? And which of the other ancient Churches reprimanded her? And for what doctrines?

Specifics. I want names, dates, historical sources.

So you’d rather they be Muslim than Catholic. Ridiculous. Or you’re just trolling for kicks.

Correct. And each one is based on misinterpretation and misunderstandings (often intentional) of the Scriptures upon which they are based.

Thank you for sharing this. By the way, could you tell us how many years of study you have devoted to learning what the teachings of Roman Catholicism actually are, and where you received your theological education? Thanks.

“If Rome apostasized, where? And when? And which of the other ancient Churches reprimanded her?”

Rome as we have it today, went downhill progressively after 200 ad.

Distance and lack of communication prevented reprimand until Rome foolishly claimed preeminence over all churches, resulting in the Eastern churches rejecting that historical falsehood.

The Roman church has a long history throughout the ages of killing believers who didn’t toe the line on her heresies.

To Roman eyes, all indistinguishable.
