U.S. airlines American Airlines Group Inc (AAL.O) and Southwest Airlines Co (LUV.N) said on Tuesday that they would give their employees a $1,000 bonus in light of the recent U.S. tax bill.

American Airlines will distribute the bonus to each team member, excluding officers, at its mainline and wholly owned regional carriers, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters. The distributions will total approximately $130 million and will be made in the first quarter of 2018, the company said.

Southwest said in a statement that as well as paying the bonus to all employees in January, it was increasing its fleet investment with Boeing (BA.N) and had donated $5 million to charitable causes.

I ain'ts in no ways tarred of winnin', yet...

There can be no doubt now that after being artificially being held down by government for the last two decades, the economy is about to explode with growth.

Every generation must learn the hard way how damaging Democrat/Socialist rule is, the hard way, it seems.

Exactly how the liberals predicted.

Taking money from the government, and from the poor and middle-class, and giving it to the rich.

I've been predicting for years that, if the economy is let loose with meaningful tax cuts, and huge reductions in regulations, and lower prices for oil and other fuels, that the economy could easily produce up to 30 million new jobs in 8-10 years, and perhaps more, and that, poverty could be virtually eliminated.

The only reason for stagnant economies, is to insure that liberals continue to have job security in politics and big government.

Southwest shoots, it’s scores...

Another three pointer...

Bonuses $130 million
New Equipment purchases $ untold billions
$5 million in charitable contributions

Meanwhile, the Democrats are setting up small group discussions to explain why all this is bad.

You know, you can’t buy Conservative outreach like that.

“Meanwhile, the Democrats are setting up small group discussions to explain why all this is bad.”

Yeah DO, they are setting up MLK “teach ins” to tell us all that the tax cut is just another GOP “evil plot” against “the working people of America!” It’s just another example of their main “political process, showing people how they have mastered the art of picking up a turd by the clean end!”

Poverty will never be eliminated. There are those that choose to live in poverty. However, I concur that the provision of the opportunity to eliminate poverty can greatly increase in this economic environment. Humans can’t be forced not to be poor. They have to choose not to be and make the appropriate choices...and even then It’s not a guarantee.

Poverty will never be eliminated.

I did say "virtually eliminate" poverty.

However, you are right that there will always be the poor, most of whom choose to live in poverty. In any case, however the poor come to be poor, they will always be a preferred constituency of the liberals and the poverty-pimps.

Dallas-based companies (such as AT&T, Southwest Airlines, and American Airlines) are rewarding their employees/citizens for voting Trump.

I’m not sure how the $60 million applies to my post.

In which slot would you place it, new aircraft?

$60 million is the approximate amount that Southwest Airlines will pay in Bonuses. A single airplane is more than that.

This from the article:

This is why I wasn't sure what you were trying to address.

I stated unknown billions for aircraft, and thought that was rather reasoned.

Not trying to give you a hard time.

no worries. Along those same lines, Its amazing what American companies will do when governments stop holding them back. They will create more jobs than we could possibly want.
