Cain’s wife was a female of the nearly human species who preceded Adam and Eve. Over thousands of generations the predecessors were bred out of existence yet continued in the fabric of humanity.

IIRC, there are tiny fragments of Neanderthal DNA remaining in a percentage of Europeans and west Asians. That can be identified because some Neanderthals were alive recently enough that some DNA is retrievable. But the out-of-Africa predecessors were so long ago that we don’t have samples for comparison. Or maybe we just haven’t found the most recent yet, Cain’s wife for example.

Just guessing, of course. I believe that God made us from the mud of the Earth. That symbolizes the elements of which we consist. How long He took and the steps He took are the question, and when we get to see Him He will probably tell us. A day with God is as a thousand years...and that was written for folks to whom millions or billions would have been meaningless.

Ok...where is the Garden of Eden? I’d love to know exactly where it was...

“Ok...where is the Garden of Eden? I’d love to know exactly where it was...”

Good question.

I wonder what the great flood would have done to it.

The report explains the scientific view that now is suggesting all humanity has a common ancestry.

...

Not only that, but all life has a common ancestor named LUCA.

ForYourChildren, I have that same book in my FR links page. My favorite though is a free online book that one can also purchase - imho the best and most comprehensive scientific book of all -

101 Evidences for a Young Age of the Earth...And the Universe
http://creation.com/age-of-the-earth

New Jersey Realist re: your post #19, not caring for religion actually puts you in good company with God and the Bible. God has nothing nice to say about religion rather He wants us to have faith in Him and the saving work of His Son, Jesus Christ.

See James 1:27 for the last thing Gods says about religion. My take on it, God is saying there’s no true religion. Religion is man-made (even those that claim to follow the Bible) while faith is a gift from God.

Claud re: post #12 it’s really not hard science when they attempt to date and re-create history. Not observable nor repeatable by the simple steps of the scientific method. Therefore historical science needs to be examined from the present and then backwards rather than trying to assign dates to the fossils, Earth and the Universe. I expect to see this old ages beliefs over-turned completely in my lifetime. I’m 56 and expect I cound easily double that if I avoid major misfortunes as I have by the grace of God so far...

Mercy and Grace to you all this Thanksgiving season!

Aren’t the most recent common ancestors Noah and his wife. It’s fascinating to think that over just a couple of thousand of years, their descendants spread across the Earth to become such diverse groups of people as sub-Saharan Africans, the Semitic people of the Middle East, East Asians, Europeans, and the people of the Americas.

"Yes, there isn’t much explanation from scientists as to how fully biologically human beings could run around for 100,000 years or more creating nothing more sophisticated than a stone axe"

The creation and appreciation of beauty might be a better marker for the advent of modern man than stone tools. Cave art in France and Spain dates back 30,000+ years.

Thanks for your reply. I agree that the loving God of this Universe has no truck with religion. As you say, “there’s no true religion.” The dilemma that arises from that mindset is that present day Christianity dictates that you must believe in Jesus alone to gain salvation - all others are lost. I say that cannot be true.

What God creates, He loves - every single being. That includes people who practice the thousands of other faiths, not only the one we call Christianity. It is the faith in God that saves regardless of religious practice. I was a devout “born again” evangelical for 24 years until I realized that God loves all human beings regardless of faith and circumstance. A Chinese person that believes in a Creator (God) and never heard of a Jesus is just as much saved as a Christian if he asks for such from the God he worships. That is why I turned to Deism in large part due to the TV program “Touched by an Angel.”

And make no mistake; even though Genesis claims that there are many gods and speaks of jealousy, there is but the ONE true GOD.

There are certain physiological problems, genetically speaking, with that.

Another question I ask is how could the earth be created before the rest of the universe when it is billions of years younger, 10,000 years old according to a lot of people.

I think any rational discussion of Genesis needs to start with a clear definition of the word "day". What if, in Genesis, a day was 500 million years in length?

But, yeah, there are a great many things I have questions about in Genesis. Like, who are the Nephilim? Were they angels sent to reproduce with the "daughters of men" in order to fix the genetic screw ups introduced byAdam, Eve, Cain and "Cain's wife"?

Mitochondrial Eve and Y-Chromosomal Adam are not good candidates for Adam and Eve.

First, there isn’t any indication that they even lived in the same millennium, let alone actually met or mated.

Y-Chromosomal Adam is not from the beginning. He was not the first human. He would have been, from our perspective, Noah. Noah was the last father who all living had/has in common. His three sons, Shem, Japheth and Ham all originated from Noah.

On the other hand Mitochondrial Eve would have actually been Eve, the first human female. Noah's sons married three different females, so the Mitochondrial based genetics would have come from three females at the time of the flood, which destroyed all humans except those on the ark. The flood occurred about a thousand years after the beginning of humanity.

Yes, very true—I had forgotten about that. But in one way that only exacerbates the problem because we know absolutely Noah lived in historic times and the dates they are coming up with for the y-Chromosomal common father are simply way too early.

All were created by accretion

The earth’s moon is like the accreted rings of saturn

The planets and moons are the particles accreted by the sun that is it’s self a galactic accreted particle
