Matthew McConaughey is evidence that movies are ‘done’. He is appearing in an auto ad and probably getting paid a ton of money.
Trying to come up with a list of ‘stars’ who have seen the light and are selling stuff on TV for a living instead of acting in movies that don’t make it.

Hollywood will never figure that out because everything is about them. What we want means nothing to them. It’s all about them, because they are what there is in their minds.

There is a great clip of Frank Zappa on youtube explaining how the music business went bad. It wasn't political like Hollywood but it was oddly similar.
Paraphrasing: "The music industry used to be run by old guys in suits. They didn't understand Rock and Roll. And they knew that they didn't understand it. So they took chances: 'I don't know if it's any good, but let's put it out and see!' And we got a lot of great music out of that. But then young kids got to run the music business. They were big fans of Rock. They knew what they liked. And they only supported new bands if the new bands sounded like the old bands. And that's how it all turned to crap. They wouldn't take chances, because they already "knew" what was going to make money."
Hollywood remakes are the same deal. Plus the stupid politics.
The NFL(NATIONAL FELON LEAGUE) is SO on life support!! Here in my house,which we were YUGE cowboy fans, not any more..have tuned out!! All we see now are thugs on the field! That lynch guy pushing the ref, without punishment, has cemented that visual for this family!! He should have been FIRED!! I bet you he’ll be on that field today!

Do a documentary on Nathan B. Forrest and tell the truth. It will be as long lasting and watched as was “Midway”. They won’t do it because it is not PC and doesn’t make sense to the lefties.

Every movie is a sequel, prequel, reboot, remake or adaptation of something already made.
Hollywood (and NY) are basically saying: we have run out of ideas and/or the few ideas we Do have are from people we are no longer able to virtue-signal past.
We have enough catalog to keep me going for the rest of my life if they never make another movie. Millennials and later are already making their own movies and creating virtual characters in MMOGs.
