Colossal Hurricane Ophelia is currently churning through the Atlantic Ocean around 295 miles away from the Portuguese Azores with winds of up to 100mph.

Ophelia, now upgraded to a category 2 hurricane, is expected to smash into the UK on Sunday night, according to the National Hurricane Center.

But the full force of its effects will be felt along the western coasts of Britain on Monday from around 8am, the NHC said.

Forecasters are warning of a “manic Monday” of blistering winds, torrential rain and strong tidal surges when the hurricane reaches British shores.

COLASSAL! OMG!!! Someone needs to get "Bunny" Price Charles on the tele quickly. More ammo for his push against man made/caused natural cat-tas-trophies. Oh, and ignore all the piffle on the right side of the page. YIKES!

I thought Ophelia drowned herself.

Checked the forecast track, looks like Isle of Skye will get hit. Added Talisker to shopping list.

And the question of the day from the dementocrats-—”Does Trump know they aren’t US citizens?”

As a part time West Palm Beach resident who was without power for 6 days and had a mountain of debris mostly from my neighbors’ trees, I can’t say I have much sympathy. Maybe they should put some more restrictions on firearms. Yep that should help.

To: rktman; All
… 80 mph gales
The Beaufort scale says that gales range from 33 mph (moderate gale) to 54 mph (strong gale). 55 mph to 63 mph is called a storm (sometimes “whole gale”) and 64 to 73 mph is called a violent storm (equivalent to a tropical storm); hurricanes start at 74 mph.

I’ll be watching this one and interested in how their government will respond since they’re so critical of our response.

Cat 3 now, 115 MPH winds. WEIRD to see it head north towards Europe - they’re supposed to hit Florida or some other country in the Caribbean, like Puerto Rico.

Besides, the British wouldn’t want to hurt the storm’s feelings or be discriminated against.

Yep, President Trump knows that they aren’t US citizens, but the democrats sure don’t know. I wonder how long it will take the Dems to complain that President Trump isn’t doing enough???? Any takers on that bet???

80 MPH at landfall? I don’t suppose it has occurred to anyone in the UK to stock up on lager and crisps, hunker down and put some Chris Ardoin or Michael Doucet on the record machine.
