80 mph gales
The Beaufort scale says that gales range from 33 mph (moderate gale) to 54 mph (strong gale). 55 mph to 63 mph is called a storm (sometimes whole gale) and 64 to 73 mph is called a violent storm (equivalent to a tropical storm); hurricanes start at 74 mph.
