Yikes, the only school where Barky would have a 4.5 grade average.

Horrible. I’ve visited as far as Calistoga. Beautiful area of the state. Feeling utterly helpless for the people and animals.in this inferno way. Saying prayers is all I can do. And if they find out these were from anything but natural causes, my prayers that they hunt any responsible down like dogs. :-(

Fifty to seventy mph winds may have blown trees into electric grid lines in the rural areas. Bone dry conditions would need only a momentary spark to then ignite dry foliage.

Thanks for posting.

My heart breaks thinking of the people and animals there.

We live in Vallejo and smelled smoke all weekend.

It got really bad on Sunday night.

I knew there was a fire somewhere but we don’t watch the news.

I thought I saw lightning a couple of times last night.

The smoke was bad and there were high winds that were very hot.

I felt like something really big and awful was happening and closed up the house.

This morning the sky was red, the smoke is awful and there are ashes floating all over the place.

A “real man” came into the dressing room when I was helping my daughter with back to school clothes. He just sat in one of the stalls with the door open so he could see. Sicko perv. I glared at him but he still sat there. I told two sales gals and they did nothing but stared at me like I was crazy. We left and never went back. This happened on Research Blvd. in Austin, TX

I swim at an outdoor pool that’s at least 30 miles away from the nearest fire. When the doors opened at 6 am, the staff said it would be a few minutes before we could enter the pool because they were still cleaning debris out of it. I figured the debris was leaves and twigs blown in from the overnight winds, but it was ashes and tiny bits of charcoal.

My son works near Napa Airport and gets there at O Dark Thirty.

He said he could see the flames from his worksite.

The dumb “smart” train isn’t running at all today,

Golden Gate Transit running but only to the town just south of Santa Rosa.

My mother lives in Vallejo.

I know that’s several miles from Sonoma County, and she’s not in any danger from the fire, but the smoke is pretty noxious also. I have other family much closer to the fires.

I hope that none of your family is in harm’s way.

So far, so good.

It should settle down now that the wind has died down.

The smoke is bad enough that houses should be closed up and we shouldn’t go outside unless absolutely necessary.

I’m not even letting the cat out.

Smells like we’re on the wrong side of the campfire.

Even indoors with the doors and windows shut.

Can they run the irrigation systems on the crops to save them? I am assuming that firefighters are not dealing with fields...

ikely the people of the Gatlinburg, TN. region will express gracious and considerate concern for the people in the wildfire damaged resort areas of California, now that the shoe is on the lefty foot.

I sure hope so!!

I grow very tired of the “let the lefties in California suffer” posts that show up here all too frequently!

Me too.

There are a lot of people like us trapped behind enemy lines.

This should have been in breaking news—

(Not stuff about Pence from yesterday.)

It is now main headline on Drudge.

Looking at live feed...Looks devastating!!!

Hope fires out soon and people are all safely evac’ed!

Nothing in breaking news—people need to know about this fire...saying “fire of a lifetime” worse than Oakland fire, looting...hospital evacs...Wow
