Law enforcement officials are investigating whether Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock had been planning an earlier attack in the city, a law enforcement source confirmed to CBS News.
According to a law enforcement source, investigators are looking at whether he may have first had his sights on the "Life is Beautiful" festival on Sept. 22 to Sept. 24.
The source, who was briefed on the police investigation, said Paddock had apparently tried to get a room at The Ogden and another hotel in downtown Las Vegas, but apparently the specific suites he requested were booked. The source speculated that Paddock may have been seeking rooms that were strategically located to the festival to launch an attack.

I’m beginning to wonder if Paddock’s motive was gun control. Severe gun control was prompted by the Port Arthur shooting in Australia and the Dunblane shooting in Scotland. Seem very odd that someone who not a “gun guy” (according to his brother) would have that many firearms. Also seems odd that he would cart that many up to his hotel room.

That’s the first thing I thought of when I read “Philippines” in connection with the Mandalay Bay shooter.

Why did he wire 100,000 to his gf in the Philippines?

Even when rooms are sold out suites may still be available.

I no longer trust the FBI, but I doubt the LV police would be in on any cover-up.
