For the opening monologue of his Thursday night broadcast of Fox News Channels Tucker Carlson Tonight, host Tucker Carlson criticized the reported deal President Donald Trump made with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer over the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) immigration policy.
According to Carlson, this deal would give legal status to 800,000 illegal aliens and Trump would not get any of the things he advocated on immigration during the 2016 presidential campaign.

1. Secure the border in a transparently verifiable way;
2. End the anchor-baby interpretation of the 14th Amendment;
3. Enforce e-verify without exception and with severe penalties;
4. End chain migration. Entry per individual qualifications; not family ties.
5. Deportation upon contact with any law enforcement agency- federal, state or local;
6. No government benefits beyond critical emergency care(and that ought to be billed back to the home government)
7. NO "Path to citizenship" EVER for anyone who has entered the us illegally.
Scratch item 7. It looks like Trump has already dumped that one. If this fails it's time to move out of this country with its $20T in debt. There's no f'ing way my kids are going to be enslaved to that and the next $100T that will quickly be tacked on for the rest of their lives.
On #7 you are naïve if you think the Courts are going to allow Trump to pre-empt any path to citizenship. Citing the 14th. Amendment they will never allow such a dual-tiered citizenship arrangement.
What deal are you and Tucker referring to?
I am not aware of any actual deal.
I agree with you, but does President Trump?
I have to give Donald Trump credit for making illegal immigration an issue. Many (most?) conservative politicians were not as strong. On the other hand, who knows what Donald Trump will think next on this topic? I wish Ann Coulter were President.
Citizens of other countries who broke into our country deserve no accommodation.
They have been ripping us off for decades.
If we do not hold the line, the rule of law and the country will be lost.
No new laws to benefit those breaking them.
We did that in 1986 and what was supposed to be an amnesty for less than a million became 3.5 million.
Illegal aliens are now 10 times that number.
When they say 11 million, we know it is 30 million or more.
The 800,000 DACA will become 2 million plus and then it will be impossible to remove their parents (who trafficked them across the border), uncles, aunts, cousins, etc.
Trump's campaign took off when he started talking about border security and stopping illegal immigration. He was the only candidate to do so.
When Fox complained about the wall, Trump said it just got 10 ft higher.
If he abandons this issue, his presidency is over. There will not be a second term and the gop-e will lose both the senate and house.
Tucker is wrong. There wasn’t a deal.
When did we start believing Schumer and Pelosi?
Exactly. It’s just 4-chan pol-like speculation, or worrying about what might happen. We’re supposed to be the grownups.
Disappointing to see Carlson joining all the housewives at the fence chattering anxiously about the divorced blonde who just moved into the neighborhood.
An upside is, we’re getting to see the moles flushed here on Free Republic—like coming up on a covey of quail: Whirrrrr!
Or maybe they’re just neurotic.
It’s important that we not be stampeded like cattle.
The uniparty and its media has been attempting that since the day Trump announced, and they aren’t going to stop until it works.
The RATs will deal for fast-track citizenship. You can count on that. They need the voters.
The pre-deal posturing is well under way on both sides. If you haven’t seen that, you’ve got your heads in the sand.
Trump was truly the only choice. If he doesn’t follow through, my family has other options thankfully.
This is the most important one... All the other 'agreements' democrats agree to they'll ignore. They'll say 'we don't have the money to enforce 'this or that'...
There's always been laws on the books to protect our borders - but Congress wouldn't enforce those laws. Democrats take the 'goodies' they want (millions of illegals made into citizens) then everything they 'agree to' they ignore.
That's what they did with Reagan, with Bush, with all the Republicans they've played for fools.
And it's what they want to do with Trump...I hate democrats.
POLL: Amnesty or Wall Which do you support?

We’re talking about legislation. Trump isn’t trying to force a presidential edict on the country like Obama.
“We the people” put Ryan and the turtle in the majority to pass conservative legislation. It doesn’t matter what Trump, Pelosi, and Chuckie want if republicans in congress want something else.
In the campaign, I heard Trump consistently say things like
* We’ll deal with DACA in a VERY HUMANE way.
* The wall will have a BIG DOOR.
* We’ll get rid of the dangerous ones first (murderers and gang members) and then figure out what to do with the non-dangerous illegals.
To me, extending DACA constitutionally (i.e. by an act of congress) is not contradicting what I heard on the campaign. I’ll admit other people heard other things - Scott Adams describes this pretty well. IF Trump can use DACA to improve other aspects of our immigration policy, it will be almost exactly what I expected. But Rs in congress have been a much bigger problem than I expected so I’m not hoping for much at this point.
My bet is that Rs in congress want almost exactly what Pelosi and Schumer want, and Trump is helping them get it without forcing them to vote against their promises. He’ll take the hit but protect them on DACA. He’s wading into the swamp, which is very dangerous. Hopefully that will give him leverage in other things though I’m not expecting that Trump can fix Rs in congress like I did when he took office.
