about 25,years ago, I got a nasty letter from IRS requesting further information about some income I didn’t report. Called the number and at agent was surly and arrogant. When she told me the unreported income was from such sources as
Juan’s Arg Labor, Fresno Calif
Jose’s Gardening service, Stockton Calif
Marias Maid service, Modesto Calfi
I asked the agent, what was my main source of income ? She said XYZ corporation located in NYC, reported income just over $100k.
she changed her tune and said ‘ I guess it would be impossible for you to hold a full time managerial job in NYC and also be mowing lawns in Stockton California ‘
LOL - never heard from them again, but I sure hope the illegals using my SS number work lots of O/T to boost my retirement

IRSb should be required to report suspected identity theft to the department of homeland security and to immigration so that those who are illegal can be deported . identity theft is no laughing mater and can cause dome unsuspecting person a lot of money or can get them locked up for a crime they did not commit.

IRS officials actively aiding and abetting illegal immigration and illegal work performed on stolen social security numbers. The relevant IRS officials should be fired.
Here is what I fail to understand: Each individual SS# should consist of a single account. That account should be in one name, the name in which it was originated. If someone else uses that number any income reported is credited to that account, and the benefits accrued based on that income are payable to the individual originally named on the account. So, how am I harmed? Use my number, work a lot and multiply my retirement benefit, please!
Where am I going wrong? A reply from someone who actually works for the SS system would be best! Other opinions will be considered.
