about 25,years ago, I got a nasty letter from IRS requesting further information about some income I didn’t report. Called the number and at agent was surly and arrogant. When she told me the unreported income was from such sources as
Juan’s Arg Labor, Fresno Calif
Jose’s Gardening service, Stockton Calif
Marias Maid service, Modesto Calfi
I asked the agent, what was my main source of income ? She said XYZ corporation located in NYC, reported income just over $100k.
she changed her tune and said ‘ I guess it would be impossible for you to hold a full time managerial job in NYC and also be mowing lawns in Stockton California ‘
LOL - never heard from them again, but I sure hope the illegals using my SS number work lots of O/T to boost my retirement
Same thing happened to me about 20 years ago; nasty letter, nasty agent when I called about it.
I only asked one question; how could I, when I had a full time supervisory position in a city organization in Southern California, be working at the same time in Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri and Minnesota?
Never heard back from that nasty lady at the IRS.
I had the same experience only I was a pregnant housewife and they made me produce documentation to show I was in Oregon and not California. They wanted receipts with dates, which I didn’t have because hubby gave me a cash allowance to run the household. Had to get them a letter from my ob/gyn.
I will never stop being pissed at the IRS. To the last, I grapple with them; From Hell’s heart, I stab at them; For hate’s sake, I spit my last breath at them. Bastards
