Renowned Artist Releases Powerful Painting of Trump and the People Who Elected Him: (T)

Famed American artist Jon McNaughton has released a stirring new painting of President Donald Trump, standing in front of the White House, along with the “forgotten men and women,” he says, who elected the nation's 45th president.

McNaughton, renowned for his patriotic and faith-based paintings, said in a video accompanying the painting's release he initially wondered if he was going too far:

“When I decided to paint this picture, I wondered if this was taking it too far. But sometimes you have to speak forcefully like the brush strokes of my painting.

Of the snake at Trump's feet, McNaughton explains:

I want a President that will crush the enemies of liberty, justice, and American prosperity. They may have the power to bruise his heel, but he will have the power to crush their head.”

I can only speculate, but I believe the black snake symbolizes communism, globalism , the caliphate or any dangerous influence trying to slither it’s way into America’s power structure. Notice the Trump figure is standing on the head of the snake, not the tail. If you want to kill a snake, vs just slow it down or practice ‘containment’, you have to crush/disable the head of it.

It could also be a Genesis 3 reference.

While core groups that supported Trump — blue-collar workers, veterans and current members of the U.S. military, law enforcement officers, and farmers — are represented in the painting, a first glance reveals an interesting addition:

Of the snake at Trump's feet, McNaughton explains: I want a President that will crush the enemies of liberty, justice, and American prosperity. They may have the power to bruise his heel, but he will have the power to crush their head.”

McNaughton said those who voted for Trump knew exactly what they were getting, which is why they voted for him in the first place:

“Last year, we elected President Trump. He expressed by his words and demeanor what Americans wanted. A man who is not going to bow down to Washington or other countries. A man that would not forget the forgotten men and women of this country who elected him.”

Of the “forgotten,” McNaughton asked: “How many veterans have been neglected? How many of our police officers have been marginalized? How many families are suffering because of poor healthcare, limited opportunities, and government intrusion?” he added.

In the minds of Trump's most-ardent supporters, McNaughton summed it up pretty well, including the snake at the combative president's feet.

I agree! I love the inclusion of Sheriff Clarke, Gen. Mattis, Rex, Pence. Did I miss anyone else?

This guy is very talented, The picture of Obama tearing up the Constitution in front of the Founding Fathers was upsetting to me personally because it was so true to what that bastards intentions were.

This guy’s paintings have always amazed me. The way he’s able to depict specific people. I’m pretty good at drawing people (see my homepage for an example), but doing portraits or even caricatures has always eluded me.

The subject is OK but the art is marginal. This Mormon kid is trying much too hard to be somebody and his choice of subject matter screams Mormon doctrine. He is the Mormon Kinkade who also became famous for his trite, poorly drawn and cutesy renditions. In real art circles, he is not renowned for his art but dismissed as untrained and incompetent. It is surprising that here on Free Republic these sappy renditions get so much attention.

Or something. I didn't look at it too close but they'll probably find some kkk sheets and swastikas somewhere in it.

I didn't find anything like that but it is very well known here in Utah art circles that the imagery and drawing lacks professional training.

“...Yeah, I was thinkin’ him in a Sherman tank wearing a Stars and Bars cape”

[Wiki] “The Haunted Tank is a comic book feature that appeared in the DC Comics anthology war title G.I. Combat from 1961 through 1987”

Back in the ‘60s I read mostly combat comic books and the “Haunted Tank” was one of my favorites. Also, Sergeant Fury and Sergeant Slaughter. Also comic books like Iwo Jima and the Battle of the Bulge which depicted the campaigns or battles in a graphic presentation that were pretty accurate for a quick summary. If it wasn’t a War comic book it was Mad Magazine.

I think the Snake being crushed by Trump’s heel represents ANTIFA and their MSM media handlers.

No, it is an unequivocal reference to Genesis 3:15 -- where God is speaking to Satan, the Serpent.

Deep State = Satan

To the serpent: “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

Something is a little off with the perspective. If the guy kneeling in front were to stand up, he would be a giant.

That’s ‘The Forgotten Man’ from the first of these paintings, and perspectively, I just thought he was in the foreground, hence the seeming larger size. And that’s the Tree of Liberty he’s cultivating. That’s how I see it.

The Forgotten Man was by Maynard Dixon in 1934. The image and title was derived from Dixon. This artwork is at BYU where the kid probably got the image and the title.
