North Korea says seriously considering plan to strike Guam: KCNA

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea said on Wednesday it is "carefully examining" a plan to strike the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam with missiles, just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump told the North that any threat to the United States would be met with "fire and fury".

A spokesman for the Korean People's Army, in a statement carried by the North's state-run KCNA news agency, said the strike plan will be "put into practice in a multi-current and consecutive way any moment" once leader Kim Jong Un makes a decision.

In another statement citing a different military spokesman, North Korea also said it could carry out a pre-emptive operation if the United States showed signs of provocation.

“He'll go straight to South Korea where he can inflict as much carnage as possible in the least amount of time.”

Unless he is crazy (and the jury remains out on this), he will posture while simultaneous trying to find a way out of this that allows him to save face and stay in power. Literally the second he makes a move against South Korea, Guam, or any Western target he is toast, and he would have to be absolutely delusional not to know this. So what's in it for him?

He probably thinks/thought that when they became a nuclear nation they would have the same ‘mutually declared destruction’ leverage that the USSR had, and that China has. In reality, he would have this leverage - if he were able to expand his nuclear capabilities to substantial levels that could not be reasonably targeted and neutralized by a conventional US strike. If he believes he is close to developing a nuclear program that would provide him this leverage, he will likely push forward and gamble on a non-response by the US. If he is not so close, and is rational enough to realize this, he will likely back down.

Sorry. Billy Graham Ministries. Samaritans Purse.

LOL on Lindsey, his effort on anything is selfish and rude.

Should be evacuating Seoul. If we don’t do something big, we will no longer have any credibility (what remains after Obama.) Our deterrence to other powers depends on the understanding that we will act when needed. If we don’t... ugh... chaos.

I agree.

And also to get some more billions out of us to get himself out of another self-inflicted famine.

Ain’t gonna work this time.

They are doing that but how long do we let the fat little despot threaten the free world?

I think now is better than later. We have lived under the dumbest rule on the planet given our ability and now we must succumb to the MSM and their approval?

Ok, thanks.

I see a lot of hits about Graham Ministries trying for many years to help the reoccurring famines in North Korea.

I hope that today’s news proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that, in some countries, charity is wasted.

He tried. He was very nervous about putting people there.

This regime is going away soon. They know it.

If he hit Guam, or even just tried to hit it, we would have no choice but to nuke him immediately.

I kinda doubt a nuclear response would be warranted, although a crippling conventional one would be.

A lot would depend on the nature of the NK attack and how successful it was.

It’s coming.

I’ve had those birds fly over at 300ft. Electronics test.

I have watched them in Tandem with Buffs and blow the hell out of Cowich Valley.

You don’t want to be within 3mi of that.
