SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea said on Wednesday it is "carefully examining" a plan to strike the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam with missiles, just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump told the North that any threat to the United States would be met with "fire and fury".
A spokesman for the Korean People's Army, in a statement carried by the North's state-run KCNA news agency, said the strike plan will be "put into practice in a multi-current and consecutive way any moment" once leader Kim Jong Un makes a decision.
In another statement citing a different military spokesman, North Korea also said it could carry out a pre-emptive operation if the United States showed signs of provocation.

Informed sources have it that the NORKs were planning to
send several troop carriers to Guam to disembark and tip
the island over from the instability of their weight.
They subsequently abandoned this plan when it was realized
that being so skinny from meager rations they did not have
enough troops to carry out the task.
Maybe they are planning to tip it over.
In a related story, the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea, has officially changed their name to “The Duchy of Grand Fenwick”.
FWIW, my daughter just returned (last night) from seven weeks in China. She went on a U.S. Government sponsored group trip, where they took Chinese at a university and lived with a Chinese host family.
Here’s the amazing thing: staying in the dorms of the University (to which my daughter commuted every day by subway) was a group of forty or fifty SOUTH KOREAN students, and their teachers.
Think about that. My daughter saw them, talked to them, went on hikes with them, etc.

In the magical world in which they live, the United States is only a big boogieman, that grandmothers use to frighten their disobedient grandchildren. As the children grow up, they have their minds thoroughly armored against giving any real credibility to the United States, or for that matter, South Korea, which Kim Jong Un has assured everybody, will be a smoldering vast ruin within hours, anytime he wants it.
He has a very high opinion of his own invulnerability.
