WASHINGTON – Four days after his inauguration, President Donald Trump threatened to “send in the Feds” if Chicago could not stop its “horrible carnage,” and on Thursday, the Chicago Sun-Times reported that’s just what he did.
In a Twitter post on Friday morning, Trump said, “Crime and killings in Chicago have reached such epidemic proportions that I am sending in Federal help. 1714 shootings in Chicago this year!”
According to the Chicago Sun-Times’ count, 1,737 people have been shot this year, 306 of them fatally.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s City Hall was aware that the Trump administration was mustering some additional resources for the city. Sun-Times crime reporter Frank Main reported Thursday, that authorities had “confirmed that about 20 additional agents with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have been sent to Chicago to combat gun violence here.(snip)
In January, Trump said he would “send in the Feds” if city officials didn’t fix the “carnage.”

I am not going to bother reading the details of this story as to whether Rahm has asked for help or if Trump is forcing it on him.
Whatever the case, Chicago is a mess and something needs to be done.
I wouldn’t have. Now Rahm and his alderclowns will just blame Trump, and skim whatever money they can. The ferals want to go at each other, let them do it. I hope that stupid van is what he’s talking about. It leaves in July anyway, IIRC.
Where is their community organizer? Why isn’t he back in his beloved Chicago? Oh yes....he’s travelling the world in luxury....for the people. CNN is right - the voters in their audience are stupid as $hit.
The problem isn't guns. It isn't really crime, per se.
The problem is a completely toxic, broken, worthless, destructive black urban 'culture'.
The Feds aren't part of the solution. Fedzilla is part of the problem. 'Welfare' programs destroy society.
The problem IS broken down culture, but that’s pretty tough to “fix” in any short order of time.
Liberals who paid young black girls to have babies out of wedlock caused this. I don’t know what the solution is....other than intervention from God Almighty.
I bet they start sending gangbangers caught actually using guns in crimes to federal prison. The law calls for up to 10 years for each gun and 5 years for each bullet. The feds never prosecute actual criminals caught using guns on the excuse that they are being charged in state court and will go to state prison. Then they cop a plea and get out in a year.
IIRC, they tried it in Rochester, NY.
It’s a waste of time and resources. Unless the Feds can put someone on every corner in “the hood” 24/7 it’s not going to keep young men in the hood from killing each other. Frankly I think everyone should pull out and let nature takes its course.

Project Exile is so well known on the street, said David E. Boone, a criminal defense lawyer here, that “the first thing I hear now when I talk to a client is, ‘Can you keep this from going Exile?’ A lot of them can’t add two and two, but they know a gun plus drugs equals five.”
