The University of Delaware teacher who stirred outrage with her comments about an American student who died after a year of imprisonment in North Korea won’t return to teaching at the school, officials said.
Katherine Dettwyler, 62, taught at the school’s anthropology department in the spring as an adjunct professor. She “will not be rehired to teach at the University in the future,” according to a statement released by the school.
Dettwyler could not be reached for comment Sunday.

They’re getting tough on these professors because the administrations are afraid that their schools will go the way of Evergreen State College.
I imagine she’ll get a nice cushy position at UC Berkeley or maybe UC Santa Cruz for the fall semester. I’m sure most of the faculty and a good portion of the students in those fine institutions agree with her.

The tenure system for professors needs to fixed or eliminated. They become unaccountable. A law unto themselves. What other profession gets that?
The Trump administration should eliminate federal funding for any college/university that won’t eliminate tenure.

If she actually is fired, she'll be picked up by some other college. Her ethnicity alone practically guarantees it.

I read something concerning the University of Missouri not long ago. Remember all the PC bs going on there a few years ago? Their freshmen applications dropped by about 20%. That’s a lot of money.
Being PC all the time can cost colleges and universities. If I had children, I wouldn’t have sent them into that whacked out lib environment.
