Venezuela mobs kick, burn thieves in lynching epidemic

Swearing in fury, the crowd strips the man naked and stomps on his head as he sprawls on the ground.

"You want things that come easy? Then take this, you bastard."

In Venezuela, this is what robbers get when they are caught by passers-by.

It is not just the country's economy and political system that are sick, but society itself, experts say. An epidemic of lynchings is one of the most gruesome symptoms.

I bet those robbers and thieves steal less than their government does. Their wrath is misdirected.

Why is this bad? I don’t understand.

there will be Justice one way or another.

the social contract broke down.

The punishment meeted by the state is now meted out by individuals.

it’s probably better this way, anyway.

Meanwhile, the leader of Venezuela and his family, plus the ex-leader’s family are all millionaires and are living the high life.

LOTS of scores were settled in the melee of the French revolution.

When the SHTF those who abused the law won’t have it to protect them.

An aggrieved citizenry will put up with this kind of crap for just so long, and then you will start seeing them standing up to the criminals, responding with public beatings, maulings and lynchings. Just what the doctor ordered if you ask me.

Stomp their nuts into the sidewalk for all of me. They aren't worth a bullet.

I bet those robbers and thieves steal less than their government does.

But in a country with literal starvation and a shortage of affordable medicines, that can be enough to bring death to a person, and maybe other family members.

Their wrath is misdirected.

Yes, they should attack foreign journalists, or priests, or anybody besides the thieves. Or perhaps the complicit police. That would be better...

When pompous self righteousness is all you have, you just have to puff yourself up and spew it.

The law of the jungle...

They’re stomping on the wrong head, though, they would get more and better results by stomping on Maduro’s.

The people supporting Maduro are the underclass. The “poor”. The people who don’t work and survive on handouts and crime. They are the ones whose existence depends on the continuation of Maduro’s handouts, and they are the ones from whom Maduro’s head-busters get recruited from.

The working people know that the leeches will support Maduro to the death, so might as well kill them whenever you catch them.

I heard a good report on John Batchelor last night from Mary O’Grady. She said that while the generals and their Cuban and Iranian “advisors” are still in charge, the common soldiers and national guard guys all see their friends and families on the verge of starvation. That’s a recipe for a brutal civil war.

The validity of vigilantism depends on how it’s carried out. Americans should shake off their fears of the practice and think about it like responsible adults.
