The United States is currently the world's oldest democracy.
But America is no more immune from collapse than were some of history's most stable and impressive consensual governments. Fifth-century Athens, Republican Rome, Renaissance Florence and Venice, and many of the elected governments of early 20th-century Western European states eventually destroyed themselves, went bankrupt or were overrun by invaders.
The United States is dividing as rarely before. Half the country, mostly liberal America, is concentrated in 146 of the nation's more than 3,000 counties -- in an area that collectively represents less than 10 percent of the U.S. land mass. The other half, the conservative Red states of the interior of America, is geographically, culturally, economically, politically and socially at odds with Blue-state America, which resides mostly on the two coasts.
The two Americas watch different news. They read very different books, listen to different music and watch different television shows. Increasingly, they now live lives according to two widely different traditions.
Barack Obama was elected president after compiling the most left-wing voting record in the U.S. Senate. His antidote, Donald Trump, was elected largely on the premise that traditional Republicans were hardly conservative.
Red America and Blue America are spiraling into divisions approaching those of 1860, or of the nihilistic hippie/straight divide of 1968.
Currently, some 27 percent of all Californians were not born in the United States. More than 40 million foreign-born immigrants currently reside in the U.S. -- the highest number in the nation's history.

Historically, given time - all the great empires have fallen. We in these “United” States are not immune. It becomes clear that human kind devolves from being generally happy to a very vocal minority wanting to control the majority. Eventually, they resort to fascism and violence, which is on our doorstep. I have no doubt about the direction Texas will go,...nor do I doubt what direction California will go, with everything else in between.

Unfortunately, neither do I. I wish it were different, but I am not confident. Now, how long will it take? Who knows, but I see the hand writing on the wall. 😩
it is time to split this country and someone needs to step up and begin it before we descend into civil war.
The urchins that populate the urban centers in this country have no effin clue what awaits them when the people in the hinterland finally begin to retaliate in earnest. Any disruption to the infrastructure that supports the dindu nuffin gibsmedats will reverberate to the leftists immediate detriment very bigly, indeed. The food will stop, the lights will go out, the water won’t run. The cities will descend into chaos with brutal savagery on short order. It will be a circular firing squad shooting gallery in the get-toe unlike any seen before in history.
I can’t wait to watch it happen.
Call me unknowing or stupid if one desires because I believe America is going to survive. I’m old now and as I look back at our founding to present day, I see an America made up of a majority who do love America. Yes, there is going to be people desiring America be destroyed. It has always been but each time America and American we’re up to the task and we survived. Difficult times lay just ahead for our children and grandchildren. I do not intend to burden my children and grandchildren with negitivity. I will teach and preach that America is the greatest nation on the face of Earth. It is never easy to keep what so many others hate but keep America we shall. America is strong. If you are an American then you are always prepared to never give up the ship because America and Americans are of all the past and present warning the world ... Remember me??? Yep my boot is poised to kick your ... Well anyways ... be an American and do not surrender.
What he really means is white, a return to white Western culture and people. The people and culture this nation was founded on and thrived on. But not only have we been allowing massive amounts of third worlders into the country for decades, we have also largely drank the 'race doesn't matter' Kool-Aid. You can't get there from here.
I'm sure that every society in the past that destroyed itself had its share of citizens who saw what was happening and tried to work against the destruction. But the ignorant masses ignored them.

For example, the blue side is primarily godless and pagan materialist and mystical pantheist. It seeks a godless City of Man that can only ascend on the ashes of the traditionalist side's ''One Nation Under God' where all people are created by God the Father thus are persons endowed with God-given rights, rather than evolved aspects of the divine energy field as the other side contends. America's Constitution is a great spiritual doctrine premised upon creation ex nihilo, the only source for the personhood being stripped from people and given to gorillas, rivers, and other aspects of nature by the other side.
One side is offended by and hates the Biblical conception of the living, personal Holy Triune God. This hatred is extended to our Constitutional Republic and to all people who uphold and defend it. In this light, it appears that calls for agreement between these two sides will only lead to where it always ends---with further compromise by traditionalists.
They should assume their opponents are not all sinners, and that their supporters are not all saints.
I see an implication here that both sides are a little bit wrong and both sides are a little bit right.
I have a hard time with such a notion. While I don't see Republicans are perfect (don't get me started ...) the division in the country right now is 100% on the Democrats. They will not accept the Will of the People, they want to overturn an election, they are calling for violence, they are carrying out violence, they are lying and subverting justice.
This really is not a situation where BOTH sides need to adjust their behavior. The situation is really very one-sided.

You’re right. Both sides are mot wrong. The violence and hatred are 100% from the left. Even GOPs who spoke yesterday implied that both sides are at fault. We’ll never fix things until the truth is spoken first.
