Devin Nunes on Unmasking: ‘Oh, This Is Only the Beginning’
thedailybeast.com ^ | John Batchelor

Posted on 06/05/2017 5:35:08 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

“Every American is masked. The intelligence agencies are bound by law to mask all American citizens that get picked up in foreign collection. What has to happen, if you want to find out who the American is—there’s a process and procedure in place for that. It’s actually very uncommon in most cases, and seldom happens. But the concern I have had, that I expressed publicly, quite publicly, actually, a couple months ago, was that it became excessive. That Obama administration officials were unmasking people in the Trump transition, and it made me quite uncomfortable.”

Nunes explained why the subpoenas were needed: “We’ve been waiting since March 15 for that information. The intelligence agencies have been slow-rolling us, which is what led to these three subpoenas being issued.”

Asked if there are other Obama officials besides Brennan, Rice, and Power, Nunes responded, “So these individuals that we named are the ones we have particular interest in, but I can say that those are not the only ones we have interest in.”

Nunes provided the big picture as well as a suggestion of tension. “But look, we want to work with the intelligence agencies. We didn’t want to have to subpoena, but the process was moving way too slowly. So we picked these three individuals whom we have a particular interest in, and hopefully they [the agencies] are expedient. That they have till next week to give us the unmaskings that these three individuals have done. I think they know now that we are serious.”

After (especially) the last four years of Bush—AND THEN the eight years of Okenya.................

..........does ANYBODY trust the words of ANYBODY down in that swamp??

It seems that truth tellers (leakers) end up on the side walk with bullets in their backs. (Whilst the cops eat their doughnuts and dissemble.)

“The subpoenas call for the information to be delivered by Wednesday, June 7, 2017.”

:: is what led to these three subpoenas being issued ::

Question. According to the separation of powers, is it not up to the Executive Branch to follow through on these subpoenas?
Should not the FBI be brought to bear to compel the subject to testify?

I usually wouldn’t trust anyone in Washington to see justice done in a case like this. This time, however, the VICTIMS are now occupying some of the highest offices in government.

It sounds portentious, but, as with all investigations of Progressives, nothing happens and nothing will happen.

IMHO

My pitch to liberals would be

1) If you insist nothing happened, we can go slow

2) Trump has access to all of the data and processes Obama had. Bannon too.

3) If that scares you, we should find out as quickly as possible what Obama’s people did so we can fix the processes and stop Trump/Bannon from misusing intelligence.

4) If you think Trump is colluding with Russia, that means both Trump and Russia have access to data on ALL OF YOU. Do you still insist that our data could not be misused for political purposes?

5) Even if data wasn’t “misused” in the past, help determine how it was “used” by previous administrations to prevent future “misuse”.

6) Are you certain that your 2018 candidates and 2020 presidential candidates are so pure that the best US surveillance won’t harm their chances? What about their families? Campaign staff? The vote counters? Or, do you trust Trump/Bannon to not use US intelligence for that?

7) Do you want to help us find out the extent of Obama’s use of intelligence data where ever that may lead? Or still want to take it slow?

When has Washington ever held anyone accountable for anything? The Swamp protects itself.

Agree. Just more pointless political theater. We’ve seen these movies before.

If the half-cast Royal Idiot continues his self-serving meme in his Penguin book deal..... you must demand to know why.

===================================================

AN AVERAGE DAY IN THE OBAMA POLICE STATE ---- "Susan the Sifter" gets her orders for the day.

"Susan, as you sift through the intel, get me something
damaging on Penguin books so I can shake them down for
a lucrative book deal."

"And get Harvey Einstein's tax returns. Malia needs a job."

"Oh, and Lois needs intel to target conservatives' tax-exempt status.

"And I need as many files as you can sift thru on Democrats,
especially intel on Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer."

========================================

PAUL SPERRY:"....the number of NSA data searches about Americans mushroomed after Obama loosened rules for protecting such identities from government officials....... and thus the reporters they talk to.

"The FISA court called it a 'very serious Fourth Amendment issue' that NSA analysts — in violation of a 2011 rule change prohibiting officials from searching Americans’ information without a warrant — 'had been conducting such queries in violation of that prohibition, with much greater frequency than had been previously disclosed to the Court.'"

A number of those searches were made from the White House, and included private citizens working for the Trump campaign, some of whose identities were leaked to the media. The revelations earned a stern rebuke from the ACLU and from civil-liberties champion Sen. Rand Paul.

"We also learned that Obama intelligence officials really had no good reason attaching a summary of a dossier on Trump to a highly classified Russia briefing they gave to Obama just weeks before Trump took office."

How long has this all been going on, and not one indictment, let alone punishment.

Would this not simply involve Trump instructing his admin to cooperate in full on a timely basis?

Good questions.

Texas Congressman Blake Farenthold also wonders whether or not the intrusion into the DNC computer server may have been an inside job....

Looks like they're getting warmer......

An even BIGGER story is that Obama spied on DEMOCRATS. Like a nerdy teenager, Obama was paranoid Dems were talking about him, giving him the shiv behind his half- caste ***.

PONDER THIS---The ease and nonchalance with which lawless Obama and Susan "The Sifter" used the mega-intel power of the US govt to surveil friends and foe alike make it very probable they spied on Democrats.

Democrats Schiff and Feinstein were invited by Trump to peruse the intel. They reportedly came away shocked at the spying revelations Trump personally unveiled to them....

...... b/c they were shown proof Obama spied on Democrats?..................

Trump knew Democrats would be sap-happy to see Obama spied on Republicans....no biggie to them. So it's more than likely S and F were visible shocked....b/c they saw evidence of Democrats spied upon.

Spying on Repubs is bad enough....but Obama/Rice spying on their own party? The revelations could be earth-shaking....lots of intel on Democrats' offshore financial activities, in Tahiti, French Polynesia, the Caribbean, Central America, and the like.

And remember......S and F ended up saying "they still haven't seen proof of Obama spying on Trump."

The old Bill Clinton parsing routine.

“We’ve seen these movies before.”

...Eternal re-runs with the Republic on life support as Progressives push for the elimination of the Electoral college and the establishment of the dictatorship of the proletariat.

Hilary has been exonerated in a distortion of the law, a meeting has taken place on the tarmac, Antifa bashes heads with impunity, any conservative opinions are surpressed... it seems that Progressives can do whatever the he&& they want.

IMHO
