The advertisers publicly bowing to the Left and pulling ads from Sean Hannity's Fox show aren't getting cheers from their customers. The message board at USAA looks like there's some unhappiness. Meanwhile, the proof keeps coming that despite their stated "policy" of not advertising on opinion shows, USAA has advertised on wild-eyed MSNBC programming speculating on how much Donald Trump is owned by Russian strongmen and oligarchs.
For example, our diggers found a USAA ad on MSNBC's The Rachel Maddow Show on May 2:
(video at link)
In March, Sonny Bunch was somehow allowed to blog at The Washington Post that Maddow's big embarrassing Geraldo-esque show on small slivers of Trump's tax information implied she dwells in conspiracy theories: "we werent watching a news broadcast so much as a modern recreation of Xs monologue from Oliver Stones JFK."
I fully expect their PR firm to be fired in the next few days or weeks, as it's been a disastrous week for the company.

<>USAA failure of good judgment.
<><>Who are your member/clients.....this is a cooperative.
Most military vote conservative. What kind of morons are running this company?
I am not sure why USAA would need to advertise at all. It pretty much has a franchise within its membership community of current and former military officers and their families.
But that's not opinion. It's [fake] news.
I knew it was a lie
And they claim to be about honoring the military
And especially on MadCow’s OPINION program
USAA’s membership is generally limited to current and retired military personnel and their families, but over time I believe they’ve been forced to expand that by law. For example, under Federal law I don’t think a company can restrict its FDIC-insured banking services (and maybe its investment services) to a limited membership.
Celebrate Diversity.
Nope the CEOs customer relation gal called me back yesterday and confirmed that was their policy. I asked why they were on hardball the night before and that after 30 years them lying to me meant I couldn’t trust them anymore.
Said she would highlight the concerns to the marketing team - then I told her I expect accountability for the CEO and other execs that made the decision. Executive committee needs in on this and we as owner members need to exercise our votes and call for no-confidence. Trying to see what it would take to drive new candidates for the next election.
It should be. These companies need to be aware of what is really going on instead of allowing PR firms to do knee jerk damage control, selectively at that.
I guess they figured that since it was on MSNBC, nobody would ever see it.

Your answer from USAA’s rep , and your reply to that rep (basically, No. You are lying and We know you are lying because you advertise on ABCNNBCBS all the time.) is essentially the same thing I told my banker rep who called when I canceled some retirement accounts.
This is called loyalty that USAA has built with the military over many years.
I wrote a letter to USAA's Senior Manangement requesting an explanation about this reported issue.
FYI, I have written several letters over the years concerning personal issues to the CEO who is normally a retired Flag Officer. I have always received a positive response and expect the same this time.
When that response is received I will post it so all Freepers can get a better picture of USAA's position.
They opened up membership to enlisted in 1996 and in 2008 they basically decided to widely open membership to former military, widows, divorced (but un-remarried) spouses, and children...they also allow extended family to use the retirement/investment products.
Bump.....
Thanks for the clarification.
Thank you for this post.
I read many of the complaint letters and I agree with each of them. This will likely cost USAA hundreds of millions of dollars.
I am very disappointed in USAA and I intend to personally cost them business, now and in the future.
I can’t simply walk away from a couple contracts I have with them or I most certainly would.
