President Donald Trump suggested Friday morning that he might cancel the daily White House briefing.
That's not a bad idea.
"As a very active President with lots of things happening, it is not possible for my surrogates to stand at podium with perfect accuracy!" Trump tweeted. "Maybe the best thing to do would be to cancel all future 'press briefings' and hand out written responses for the sake of accuracy???"
Putting aside the president's claim his spokespersons are untrustworthy, ignoring his odd use of quotation marks around "press briefing" and ignoring his ridiculous reasoning (the White House's written statement on why he fired former FBI Director James B. Comey was just as confusing as his press secretaries' spoken defenses), nixing the daily briefing might actually be good.

If it was up to me, I’d have a lottery. ANY NEWS OUTLET, be it the Salina Times (in Kansas) or the NY Times (in New York City) would be given an EQUAL CHANCE to attend .
If Salina wins that week, and the NY Times and Washington Post loses - oh well, they gave it their best. Maybe better luck next time! And I suspect that the NY Times, the LA Times, and the Washington Post will be lucky to win more than 2 or 3 times per year.
Oh well.
Put some of these Journolists out of work. Cancel briefings except for emergency. I like the idea of press release. send it to smaller news orgs. Bypass the big ones. Make them sweat. This is a sure sign of WINNING!

The idea of the press corps is outdated. People can interpret the news themselves. Written statements in the website is enough.
I’m pretty sure Trump is just trolling the press (which they fully deserve, of course).

Spicer does an excellent job of answering the questions from the “press” but there needs to be greater consequences for repetitive, disingenuous, rhetorical or badgering questions since whatever they are now, it’s not working.
Maybe suspend their press pass for a week or better yet make the worst offenders ware electric dog shock collars.

I heard the news that he had two scoops of ice cream while others got just one. It’s outrageous to the media that he did this.
Maybe just have a weekly press conference and hold it on a Friday morning.
