The video above is from Fox & Friends. The question is: Why do public schools so want to terrify students about guns? Here is the text of a short op-ed that Dr. John Lott wrote for the Los Angeles Times in 2001. The piece is as relevant now as it was then. . . .
Here is a local TV station story from North Carolina:
HOKE COUNTY (WTVD) A local mother is outraged after her 5-year-old daughter was suspended from school because of a stick that resembled a gun.
Caitlin Miller returned to school Tuesday after her one-day suspension.
It started Friday when her mother got a call from the principal about a playground incident. Caitlin explained that she and her two friends were using their imaginations, playing King and Queen.
In this case, Caitlin was the guard protecting the royals and picked up the gun to imitate shooting an intruder into the kingdom. . . .

zero tolerance for illegals instead.

Outraged? And she sent the kid BACK into that nasty environment because?????
Punished for being a kid.
And I comment with the same comment: Why is that child in public school? Why is any child in public school? Everyone has reasons, I suppose, depending on what is more important than one’s children and works out usually to well, it is more convenient to turn them over to the State for most of the day.
This zero tolerance policy is just a method of indoctrinating young minds against gun ownership in their later years. the motive for this type of indoctrination is obvious. Totalitarians are very vulnerable to armed asymmetric resistance.
I suspect the progressives feel that if they can brainwash kids into thinking toy guns are evil and that playing soldier or cops and robbers is not something good people do, they will be too scared to own a real gun as an adult. When that generation grows up, the liberals will have essentially achieved a gun-free society.
Yep. I dont have kids so i can’t relate, except on a common sense level that this is asinine.
If that were my 5-year-old daughter in that situation, I'd take that stick and shove it up that principal's ...
Seriously.
lol
He’s have 4000 bullet holes in him from three combined police forces who would show up at the school, including SWAT.
The way the country is going, they may call in SEALs :)
what total bullsh8t
Don’t leave your kids with the mentally ill.
The solace I take out of this is that there will be a large amount of these kids will want to have a gun purely and simply because they have been told it is wrong. Youth being youth they will rebel when they can. My belief is that there are always a good amount of young people that can smell the BS of indoctrination. The only problem with that is they initially will not have the due respect and training that a good upbringing with weapons would have given them.
The poor kid is a victim of LOCD - Liberal Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. It’s epidemic in the US.
Public School is Child Abuse.
Dang, I had one of those when I was a kid. All the kids on the block would get together after Christmas to show off their new toy guns and play Army.
Circa 1958 or so, there was a plastic pellet firing version of the Thompson sub gun. Pellets didn’t travel very far but the stick magazine and removable shoulder stock and front grip made it really cool. Somehow linked in my memory with Audie Murphy’s “To Hell and Back” movie.
