And just look at the damage that playing with toy guns as a kid has done to you. I’m guessing you shoot 2 or 3 people a week over parking spaces? Am I right? Even worse, you probably support the NRA and vote Republican. Maybe Stalin had it right all the time, and we need to ban the things because they’re a danger to government.
Was not so long ago schools had gun clubs. Some had shooting ranges.
Liberals are afraid of guns since armed citizens will eventually rebel against a “liberal government.”
Of course “Liberal” no longer means what it used to mean, in today’s world “fascist” is a closer description of what Liberals want.
Had one of those!...or one nearly like it...
Did not have to wear the tie tho....
Back When a Buck was Worth something!
It’s about time we started shaming the idiots responsible for this crap. Let the earn their SJW badge.
Anyone know the ID of these turds?
The stick was one of, if not the first, toy inducted into the toy hall of fame
Most people don’t have the extra income to simply pull their kid out of public school on a whim and put them in private school.

**Hoke County Schools

Responding to reports of the so-called stick gun incident, please be advised that the Hoke County Schools, like all U.S. public school systems, is barred from disclosing information involving an individual students conduct under the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). While parents are always free to share publicly their understanding or viewpoints regarding their childs school experience, in the absence of prior, written authorization by the parent, public school systems are barred by FERPA from discussing those same matters.
That being said, the Hoke County Schools recently received full re-accreditation from AdvancEd and is committed to maintaining safe, orderly, and inviting learning environments for all students. School system policy prohibits retaliatory isolation of individual students, and the systems first priority is to provide every available opportunity for student success.
We welcome your comments on social media posts, but we do ask that you keep all comments as civil as possible. Please refrain from inappropriate language and name-calling. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.**
Comment: E.g.: **Michael Shreckengost Why did the school allow a gun shaped stick on the playground? Clearly the neglect on the part of the school demands a lawsuit.**
Meh.
And I guess they’re going to offer counseling to the kids and staff over the horror.
Zero tolerance levels is the worst set of rules possible. The world is not digital, made up of ones and zeros.
my friend who lived across the street always had the latest toys, and one of them was a battery operated replica of a howitzer that fired projectiles about 50 feet. One fine day we were playing in his house and I successfully gaged direction and elevation and nailed the family cat that was walking on the top of his parents piano.
Zero Tolerance is a way to insulate the personnel from any ability of questioning them for a decision using common sense.
You hear of girls being suspended for having Midol in their purse. Now any thinking person would be sympathetic and ignore it but noooooo.
Zero tolerance forces the official to take action.
No on can come back and question the decision because it’s in black and white right there on page 14.
I remember when some woman called my mom over to the counter in a huff when she saw my brother and his buddies peeking at the girlie magazines down at the 5 & dime...
My mom wasn’t thrilled about him doing it but took so much offense at the scene the woman made that she bought him a Playboy on the spot and handed it to him right in front of the woman.
If this had been one of us Mom would have bought us another squirrel rifle and chewed the school board out so thoroughly they’d whistle when the wind blows through the holes.
We used half of a curtain rod for toy guns, using the bent end as a stock. Evidently we didn’t have $3 for a really cool plastic smoking gun.
Why doesn’t that child have the right to play with whatever shape she chooses? Where are her rights?
Don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this insanity.
When I was 7 in the first grade several of us rural boys would bring our guns to school so we could hunt for food on the way home. We had to leave them in the coatroom though. This was a LONG time ago when there was some common sense left in the world.
Awesome! Functioning toy artillery! Beats the cap firing hand grenades we had.
