Defense Minister to VP Pence: “We Expect to See US Embassy in Jerusalem Soon”

Israel’s Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman told Vice President Mike Pence on Tuesday night that he “expects to see the U.S. Embassy at its new location in Jerusalem soon”.

The comment came on the heels of a factfinding mission by two Republican senators to Jerusalem last weekend. The members of the House Subcommittee on National Security affirmed during the trip, which included scouting locations for the embassy, that President Donald Trump would not veto the Jerusalem Embassy Act when it comes up for review again in May.

Liberman and Pence met at the White House during Liberman’s short visit to Washington and discussed issues affecting Israel, the US, the Middle East and the American Jewish community, including the recent rise of anti-Semitism and the threat of Iran. While the embassy was mentioned, it was not the main focus of the meeting.

Liberman thanked Pence for the vice president’s strong condemnation of a wave of anti-Semitic incidents in the US, noting appreciation for Pence’s personal visit to a Jewish cemetery in St. Louis that had been vandalized.

It's a game-changer if it happens and may be one of the main reasons God allowed Trump to be elected. Exciting Times!

True. Jerusalem was Jewish long before the marauding Islamic pillaged and plundered and claimed it.

I don’t think it’s going to happen anytime soon. When I put together a list of all the things Trump’s administration needs to do to Make America Great Again, this ranks somewhere around #7,481 on its best day.

I’d like to think he’s serious on this matter.
Time will tell for sure.

I'd like to think he doesn't give a sh!t about this matter at all. It has absolutely nothing to do with Making America Great Again.

"I'd like to think he doesn't give a s about this matter at all. It has absolutely nothing to do with Making America Great Again.".

==================

I dissagree. Many Christians like myself believe his support for Israel is why he sits inside the Whitehouse today, and why God will make America great again.

Actually it does.

To be great we must treat our friends with respect. Israel is a friend and pretending that Jerusalem is not their capital city is contemptuous of them. Moving the embassy to Jerusalem is really not very different from restoring the Churchill bust to the Oval Office.

May 24th: Jerusalem Day, the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem.

Instead of the usual veto, how about an announcement of the new address. ;)

Israel is a radically secular state just like any other. For the life of me, I can’t imagine why Christians in the U.S. think God will have a special place in His heart for a country like ours just because we move our embassy in that secular state into a city where they hold a freaking “gay pride” parade every year.

I would agree with that, but neither one of these things was anything more than a symbolic gesture.

I've said all along that the U.S. will eventually move its capital to Jerusalem. But it's not going to happen until all of the players over there come up with an agreement on the final legal status of that city.

‘Liberman thanked Pence for the vice president’s strong condemnation of a wave of anti-Semitic incidents in the US,’

Because those wild-eyed anti-semite Trump supporters need to be scolded! Oh and Lieberman when did you stop beating your wife? Can you please issue a statement to all those abusers and potential abusers?

They need to change the planned location.

They’re talking about putting the embassy in West Jerusalem. It needs to go in East Jerusalem.

Every Republican President from Ford to present said they would move the Embassy to Jerusalem. Don't know about all the Dems.

because they actually read the Bible unlike you. Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I totally agree; locating our embassy in the Old City will reaffirm Israel’s annexing it back in 1967 and will send a powerful message about the permanence of the Jewish state.

For 19 years West Jerusalem was divided from the Old City by a truce line of demarcation. Putting the embassy in the New City wouldn’t be that significant, in my opinion.

The usual suspects will scream bloody murder but what else is new?

Uh -- whut?

I didn't see the words "Jerusalem," "United States" or "embassy" in any of those passages.

Yes, but Trump actually allowed the deadline to pass without a signature. He’s the only one!

I think your President believes the legal status of Jerusalem HAS been settled for a long time and moving the embassy there is emblematic of that belief.
