I've said all along that the U.S. will eventually move its capital to Jerusalem. But it's not going to happen until all of the players over there come up with an agreement on the final legal status of that city.

I think your President believes the legal status of Jerusalem HAS been settled for a long time and moving the embassy there is emblematic of that belief.

The standing U.S. policy on this issue is laid out in the Declaration of Principles (1993) and the Interim Agreement (1995) on Palestine.

The legal status of Jerusalem is not what you think it is.

The U.S. and Israel are BOTH signatories to those documents.
